Not lame at all.. although I beg to differ... APC side guns actually work.

Actually, that's kind of a cool idea because not only do you get comander points and armor time, you also get 1 point for each kill the driver gets. I say go for it.
Not lame at all but IMO when you become commander you should not have any kit and should be removed from the battlefield to a safe HQ behind the lines or a flying HQ were you are safe from attack, this would enable you to just concentrate on commanding with no distractions. This would also stop you getting kit related badges/medals while commanding.

Well, there seems to be nearly universal approval of this tactic. I'm glad to hear it. I guess I'll continue to do this for another 8-9 hours or so and try to be vocal about what I'm doing. Thanks for the input. After reading the responses, I regret not making this a poll question.
If you are not driving wouldn't you show up as a +1 or a +number...only the driver's name shows up.
Regardless, as long as you fully discharge your commander duties I don't have a real issue with it....after all a part time commander that does a good job for the part they are focused on commander is better than a frickin tard that is commander the entire round but doesn't help the team..
