Was looking at widescreens, and was wondering if anyone ran bf2 on a widescreen of 21" or greater. I was considering the dell 2407wfp (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/prod … u=320-4335), but am curious if anyone has it and what they think, and also any information on experience dealing with dell on dead pixels would be good, i had a hard time finiding their policy on pixels.

Also, am open to alternative suggestions on monitors, 21"+ (either 21.3" 4:3, or 21" 16:9 or greater is what i am looking at)

I have a buddy who usses the dell, it's an awesome monitor. All though it is a kinda expensive. I use the viewsonic 21in and I really like it. Just as nice as the dell, about the only difference in features is the picture in picture. Of course I don't need that so I will take the 100 dollares I saved and put it towards something else. I hope that helped.

anyone had any issues with ghosting on this monitor? im still soliciting advice.

Also, i run a p4 3.4, 2 gig ram, with x800xt video card, which runs well at 1240x1080, but not sure how it could handle running at a higher widescreen resolution of 1920x1080. Gimme input!~

I just got the 2407WFP about a month ago and I love it. I am having no problems with ghosting. I have noticed banding if you do not set your desktop resolution to its native resolution 1920x1200. I only tried it at a lower resolution becuase at 1920x1200 everything is so damn small that it was hurting my eyes for awhile. I am getting used to this though. One thing that annoys me is that if you move white objects around in windows you see slightly pink trails. Hard to describe but it is also minor and I do not see this in games. Another thing to consider and probably the most important: it will be hard for your graphics card to power a monitor of this size. I have an old socket 478 3GHz P4 with X850XT PE and I have to run at a much lower widescreen resolution and have ATI software stretch it to fit the screen and it is still choppy for me. You will not be able to play BF2 at the native resolution of 1920x1200 without at least a 7900GT and even then you probably wont get to apply high settings with AA and AF without 2 in SLI or a single top of the line card.

By the way. Costco sells this monitor. That is where I purchased mine. I paid more to get it from Costco than from Dell because at Costco I can return the thing whenever I want for any reason and they will give 100% refund. I don't know how Costco survives with that return policy but I love it!

Been using a 2405FPW for almost a year and a half.  No idea what changed between 2405 and 2407 but I've had no regrets with mine.  In fact I'd go as far as saying it has been my most satisfying tech purchase ever.  No ghosting, no pixel problems.

Adonlude is right though, you are gonna want a high end GPU to get the most of it.

I've been forcing BF2 to 1920x1200 at high settings with decent frame rates (X1900/FX60) though sometimes I wonder if this res is just to high for the game.  It looks and plays beautifully but distant targets can pretty damn small at that res.  My advice would be go for it, you will not be disappointed.
