(sorry i cant spell) any way my finished building his new comp. he got an 7950 card and he has 4gb of ram and he told be he is going to maby buy another 2 2gb sticks. i was like r u crasy 8gb of ram is a wast like what is he going to run ddr4. any way ge got an amd x2 4400+ processer. and that his comp is amazing. any way my point is how much would it cost 4 me to build a new computer with thease such things?

SO do any of u guys know of any good cross fire mobo's?
OR any good sli mobos's?

iam a real computer noob so just help me put here

I did a part shuffle recently .. granted i didnt need to buy a case,drives, etc ...

I think a psyco rig would start with a real workstation platform and have @least 32 GBs of mem

stop at 2 gigs of ram and you could be about 600$ richer than your friend!

and i wouldn't get an amd x2 4400+, maybe wait 2-3 months and get a conroe when some more MB's come out for them.

For 1500-1800 you could get a pretty nice comp similar to:

MB: Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe NVIDIA Socket 775 ATX Motherboard (270$)

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40GHz (360$)

Another 200$-250$ for ram, 100$, another 150$ for a case, another 250$ for hard drives, 300$-400$ for a decent x1900xt or 7900gt (and assume you can scalp dvd/floppy drives/a monitor/keyboard/mouse from your old comp) and you are gtg for about 1300-1400$. You could blow a little more change tweaking some items like faster HD's, more expensive ram, or go up to the 6700 conroe processor.

8GB is only worth it if ur running 64bit windows ...

the lifetime of the card depends on maker and how hot it gets during its life .. not short life across the board.

I don't think xp pro will recognize that much ram. Correct me if i am wrong. Vista will up to 16 (I think again) but it has been pushed back also.

Getting the right ram is just a important I had a friend spend alot of money on some ram and his timings are off. Because of this my prescott smoke him.

This is our everest scores side by side.. mine of course is on the left. We both are overclocked but I am at 13 he is at 10. He had to hold it there to be stable.

I was at 4.2

he has 8gb ram, why the fuck???? it makes no sence, yours looks better...... he just got alot, like you need that for gaming..... or anything on windows....... (2gb per task limit?)

now, if he bought very good 4gb, he would be better off. (still video editing while gaming)
