Thanks a lot, topic starter. Now I'm gonna go have to play some Gran Turismo 4!
And I'll throw this one out here since nobody's done it yet. The car like that of Harvey Keitel "Winston Wolfe" in Pulp Fiction

I think Carroll Shelby is still making these. He had a bunch of them that were manufactured in the 60's but never assembled, sitting in crates in a warehouse somewhere. He was building them for $500K each with proceeds going to the American Heart Foundation or some other charity. Because the title gets generated with the block, they were all brand new but only had to deal with 1960's emisions laws.(T)eflon(S)hadow wrote:

I have seen a few pics of that Ariel Atom before. Looks fun as hell to drive. VW is thinking about putting out a Trike like vehicle. Two seater side by side and single wheel in the back. Don't know specs but saw it in Maxim or Stuff magazine. Only 17,000 USD. Probably not the performance of the Atom but would be fun as hell to drive also.alpinestar wrote:

I would still take the Saleen S7 if given the choice. I did say 0-60 in Under 3.0 sec. The Atom could probably hang on a tight road course but out on the open road I dont think it could keep up.

Oh, the 07 Shelby GT.... not worth it. For 25 more hp you're paying thousands extra. You could simply add a CAI, tune, and new exhaust to a base model GT and you'd get more power. You'd just be paying for the name, that's it, and IMO, it isn't worth it.alpinestar wrote:

I wouldn't call it a "dream car" but I've been giving serious thought to a used Vanquish.
The truth of the matter is that you can find a well-maintained one for just over 125. If I get one it's going to mean a slightly smaller house (I'm moving also). I can trade my Lexus and probably put another 25 into it and owe 65 over 7 years. That's under $1,000 a month for 7 years at 7%. About 980.
Honestly, that's a lot for a car, but not insanely more than you'd pay for a nice 5 or 7 series BMW, and you get to drive a Vanquish. Who cares if it's used?
I don't have a car payment now, paid cash for the Lexus and the truck, but I'd be willing to part with $1,000 a month to drive a Vanquish. I'm just afraid that in the town I live in it would get trashed, and I'm a little afraid that it would be a slap in the face to some of my clients, patients, and customers. I don't want everyone thinking "damn he drives that" when it's time to pay a bill.
