Oh yes, that's another one. The unprecedented wastefulness of the US, some people in the US aren't I hope, but the overall figures are shocking.

Do people in the US still not believe in global warming?

Snowman, just spotted your post and agree entirely. That's exactly what it boils down to, waste, ignorance and also Bush (but I suppose waste and ignorance kind of cover him already).

Good call on the 1st and 3rd points, as for the 2nd one, who cares - in fact that may be another reason right there, the fact Americans think people hate them because they're a superpower, la di da.

The Bush administration plays a big part too, in fact the 3rd point is sort of covered just by the Bush administration.

Also, I'm pissed off about all the conflict in the middle east for quite a selfish reason, yup - oil (*edit* that's not the only reason I'm pissed off about it but that's a discussion for another day).
Do you Americans have any idea how much petrol costs in the UK now???

£1 a litre, that's less than a gallon (3.785 litres) costs in the US with all your subsidies and low taxes.
It's costing us too (we're also not happy about it) we can ALL thank Bush and his Saudi buddies for that

I think the europeans dont like us because we have bad leadership, they dont like wars(we do like to kick some arse when there is good reason for it), and there are rumors spreading that say we went to iraq for oil and stuff like that. And they are becoming muslim so its part of their culture to hate us.

Im from the US.. I know people hate what they dont know... Ive been to Europe and the middle east and to tell you the truth.. People are generally (of course with the exception of a few) are the same.. We all want to live, love and be happy the best way we know how.. Of course many of us dont see it that way.. We just digest what we read and see in the media and television and shape that into how we see each other... Booooo....

You shouldn't think of it as kicking arse, it's more like making people die. Including your own.
Still think it's a fun thing to do?

Well berster I am trying to combat half of the problem w/ a grass roots campain in my city and high school. This grass roots campain attacks student apathy in city schools. Addresing the waist my fellow americans seem to enjoy indulging in, I can only say that personally I try to walk every where, rarely have the AC on, grow much of my own veggies (mind you I live in the city) and use many water saving apliances and methods through out my home. So if I must lead my nation through education or example I am trying and there is at least one American who wants his children to live in a healthy and educated world.

We kicked saddams arse, then our bad leadership got us stuck there. And we owned the taliban. It only took a few dozen of our troops a couple weeks to take over afghanistan and push most of the taliban into caves.

If you heard repeatedly from an acquaintance how horrible you were after awhile you might say...I don't care what you think...so there is not as much arrogance involved as most may think. It's just we have our pride like all people and that's where the "America love it or leave it" phrase came from in the 60's. WE don't mean to come off so arrogant, but we get tried of constant flag burnings and criticism that we see on TV.

Remember we got attacked. So I know some of you may say, well get over it, it was 5 years ago....well I'm sorry it's not quite that simple.

I believe that, as I've stated in other threads Iraq was a mistake, but I can understand the mistake in the wake of 911. Remember we lost about 3,000 of our citizen's in one vicious attack. Plus the psychological damage of seeing the towers collapse. Don't laugh...that affected me. And I think it scarred other Americans also.

But now we are in Iraq and we have to figure out the best way to get out. Hopefully it will be soon and they will not fight after we leave...I HOPE.

Afghanistan is another story, that's where the attacks came from and I support that effort 100%. But since our government did not focus on Afghanistan it has become a mess there now because the Taliban were able to regroup.

I want better leadership...but I do appreciate some of the things Bush has done. He was in a very tough spot and he does love our country.

I could go on but I'll save it... I hope I have communicated in a way that allows you to see this American's feeling's. And maybe understand my anger at times.

I love my country and I stand behind our Military. The rest of the World needs to take into consideration we are not a bad people and even our government, as mush as you're mad about Iraq, is not killing people ruthlessly like the evil forces of darkness. You know Im right. What if Osama and MANY like him were in control. Don't kid yourself...Look at Afghanistan before the war.

Very true, Clinton was great. Him getting caught getting a blow job I think is great and under Clinton the US economy had a surplus, under Bush there is a deficit - that's even before you take into account the cost of the wars he loves to wage.

I have nothing against American people in general - there are a lot of American people I dislike, but there are a lot of other people I dislike too. Also a lot of groups I hate are American, you come up with some very stupid religions - like mormons and scientologists, although they're really no more ridiculous in theory than Christianity, Islam or any of the others.

I'm not exactly sure why other countries populations hate America. Ive been around the world and have seen both good and bad. I understand that the current administration does indeed blow, but from my understanding the hatred towards America has been around well before Bush hit the White house. But like many others have said I guess its because of those arrogant few people who think they are better than others when they visit other countries that give us a bad name.  Ive been to several countries, England, Spain, Portugal, and several others (mostly in the middle east) where I have been welcomed and I try to leave a good impression when I leave. But one question they always ask me is if I'm a cowboy?...not sure why but its usually followed with why does the government allow its people to own guns? So maybe its that. I'm not exactly sure.

Despite the freedom of cult and religion that must rule in the world, what must be clear is that, at least for me, there's nothing bad with american people in general terms.  In every country there's a lot of good people and a lot of assholes.  I think foreign and american people hate the current administration, but nobody hates America itself, with the exception of some fundamental extremists.
I think Al Gore would made much better than this puppet and he'd still be at the White House, as he earned in 2000.

its not like the democrats are any better the problem is that everyone but a select few that run the country have no idea what people really want and is best for the country, also if any french people read this tell me why u all seem to hate america after we saved you plenty of times ex. WWI, WWII not to mention we helped with vietnam which would have been a victory if not for the politics

Ok, sorry - that could get a bit out of hand couldn't it....

Although religion does come into the issue a bit, for example Bush's veto of stem cell research - that comes down to religion and politics should be 100% secular, there is no room in politics for religion.
