BF2S Forums Best sniper rifle

Since about 1 in 3 of all the posts on these forums are on this topic, just SEARCH(!!!) and read a few.

My most used is the M24. Second by L96A1.

They are both great. The M95 is a waste of time.

i dont know, why not press the search button as this has been talked about like 20times before, with polls and all kinds of shit.

The best Sniper Rifle is the PkM

M24, feels like it has the highest bullet velocity and least bullet drop. It might not be true but for me it feels like that. L96 feels rubbish at hitting moving targets, i've only ever got running headshots with the M24. M95 is good for pistol'ing. Sights are rubbish though.

The L96A1 is the best choice in almost all situations. It has twice the accuracy than the m95(while scoped) a faster reload time than the m24, and is acsessable to all armies in Bf2, not just one like the m24. Look up the stats on the comparison in wiki

M24 and L96A1 are virtually the same apart from the scope and the reload time,I hit with the M24 just as good as with the L96A1.

If you specialize on one rifle - EVERY sniper rifle can rock the house.
Every now and then I pull out the good old Type 88 and I'm surprised about the headshot-ability of this little gun.

I would say that when you have mastered all the rifles the best choice for citymaps is the SVD or Type88,a headshot is a headshot and no other sniperrifle can fire faster than these two.
But all in all it's a personal preference,I had my phase where I always took the M95 and killed 2 attackchopper teams per round,now I'm shooting longrange all the time with the L96A1 or on SF I always choose the SVD.

But since you asked: depends what you're doing.

Camping the carrier from the superstructure? Not much point in having anything but the M95.

Shooting guys at extreme range on Wake or Dalian, L96A1 is your boy. General mid-range sniping M24 or L96A1 are pretty close and there's not that much between them; individual preference/experience with the scope can make someone just as good with the M24 as with the L96A1.

Although I don't like it and I don't think it's as effective, even the SVD has something to recommend it in the right hands (generally only for modest distances though) since you still have a decent magnification and it'll do one-shot-kill headshots. Ditto with the Type 88, only more so, since the scope is easier to use for most people.

Ha, screw 350+m Mj.Blindfisch, a hundred metres and the guy can barely see you. Dude, you've played 80 hours, you haven't seen enough snipers! Let's see you compete with the snipers embedded within Construction Site from the parapet in front of TV Station at the end of a round on Sharqi. Really, I challenge you to even hit them, much less win 2/3 of the time.

Since you play Karkand most: even across the river from Train Accident toward the artillery you have virtually no chance of a hit unless the guy is a total noob; it's hard enough to even see them through the damned dust.

Wrong. Please go and check the specifics would you? It's partly the continuing posting of misinformation like this that leads to people still being confused.

Bullet drop is the same for all of them, no matter how it feels. It's precisely because the velocity of all the rounds is the same that this is so

Agreed. Quiet, best scope, fastish reload; what's not to like?
