I'm not good with computer whiz things (guess you could say it that way), so I'm seeking the bf2 community assistance. I'm trying to find out if my computer is up to speed with BF2 requirements (and if not, what I will need to bring it up to spec). I'll list what I know about its current state.

AMD Athlon 64 Processer 3200+
2.0 GHz
2000 MHz FSB
512 KB L2 Cache

Hard Drive:
160 GB ATA

Memory:
512 MB DDR SDRAM Duel Channel

Video:
nVIDIA GeForce 6100
PCI-Express Slot Available

(I kind of listed this off what I could find on the comp and I think this is the correct info to be giving)
Thanks for any help you can give.

get more ram 2x 1 gb if you can (meaning 2 gbs) and a better graphics card, how much are you wanting to spend?

you need more Ram,  turn that 516 into a 1 gig and you're good to go...

You can probly play with 516 but i dont recommend it...

and to find out you're computer specs:    click Start / Run /  type in "dxdiag" click enter.

Approx how much would I have to spend.  Would like to keep the cost somewhat minimal.

Yup, at least 1 gig of RAM, 2 if you can afford it.

personally i would recomend just buying a 1gb stick that way if you want another (which you will) you can just stick it in later

i dont know what kind of ram you have now (timings, frequency) so if you bought another 512 mb, you could be ripping yourself off.  I'll try to explain this, okay so ram works so that you can only run it at the lowest setting, meaning that if you buy some really amazing ram with awesome timings and everything, it will run the same as the one you have in your computer now.  It all just depends.

that would be a great stick of ram (they also sell it bundled so you'd get 2 gb, i believe its around 200)

So the extra memory is all I'm gonna need or am I going to have to throw in some money for a graphics card (I'll know what to get for that and I could also get one from a friend).

Start with getting yourself to 1 or even 2 gig ram (Bf2 was one of the first games that could even USE 2 gig ram and 2 gigs will make a huge differece with stuttering etc.) and once you get there you can take a look at video cards.  Obviously, you are gonna want a new video card too, but a new vid card on 512 ram is gonna be a waste so start with the ram and then build from there.
