Semper Fi All,

I have a question on the promotion to 1st Sergeant.

I am currently Gunny w/ 12,XXX some global points; I have ALL the Bassic Badges and more than half of the Veteran Badges already.  I didn't get the 9 required Basic Badges to make 1st Sergeant until after I was promoted to Gunny, BUT still (way) before the specified 20,000 global points required.

My problem is:  According to the BFHQ "NEXT PROMOTION" listing, I am slotted to rank up to Master Sergeant - NOT 1st Sergeant. 

Its been a few days since I have earned the 9 required badges - maybe over a week now - and still it says Master Sergeant.

Others who have questioned this promotion to 1st Sergeant in these forums all seem to NOT have followed the guidelines to get the Pre-Req's first before reaching 20,000 pts. or have just missed it because of the reduction in points required with the new patch.   

I think I have followed all the guidelines correctly - unless I am missing something not listed like a Medal or a Ribbon.

Anyone have any thoughts??

The 'next promotion' is based off the next in the UBAR listing, not what you are actually going to get. So it makes calculation as to whether you will get Master Sergeant and First Sergeant, it just lists Master as the next, as it's the next in the list (you'll see First appear after it with the same completion rating).

From what you say you should be fine. Maybe this could be something chuy incorporates, but really it's not that important and can be worked out pretty easily.

Thanks for the advice.  I hope you are right - I REALLY want that 1st Sergeant!

Hey~ How do you add your little STATS pic at the bottom of your reply like that?

And,  what fo you mean when you say "chuy incorporates"?

yes u will get it wen U get 20,000 pnts. ur a ways off!
jus goto ur stat page and click on the ribbon/badge/medal and scroll down jus a bit, ull See the badge req. and wat u have done and wat u need
oh and "chuy" is the web master of this site

you know im glad'.. when i started'..this game ' i began to get all my badges and ribons and such'
it payed off... LOL.. when it hit 20,000
because of that patch

Go to your forum profile page and click on 'Personality' on the left hand menu. In the textfield enter the BBCode provided on your stats page for each image and then submit.

I meant that it could be possible for chuy (the site owner and genius behind this wonderful site) to improve the 'next rank' feature so it actually works out which of the two awards you will get, and possible list which badges you'd need if you weren't on target for the upgraded promotion. However, as I said, there's better and more important things to be worked on I suspect.

By the end of this weekend the site will tell you which of the two ranks you are up for in this kinda of a scenario. I actually have most the work done (did it along with the TTA for awards), but didn't have time to finish it off last weekend.
