Honestly try playing without your unlocks, it takes skill because most of the unlocks are more accurate and deal out more damage. It makes you think before you go around that corner or up that hill. 

On the flip side if you choose to play without unlocks thats your choice, dont flame because of it, get better and flame them on the top left hand side of your screen that shows what you killed them with.

Unlocks arent any better, unlocks for every kits are because for using different playing styles, for g3 and m16 you need to use different way, same with medic weapon...but ak101 is the best, it beats every else weapon in game, very accurate (if you know how to use it) and it deals good damage

Check the UBAR and Wiki then come again. Less deviation, faster draw times and more damage....= not better? I think not

come watch me on battlefield and then come say which is better, today last round with ak101, kill death ratio of 7:1, dig that, most of enemies were using l85a1 (meh noobs) and g36e (sucks in close combat)

I agree with what bobroonie said about the basic weapons being better than the unlocks but take more skill to use. When I first started playing the game I couldn't stand the basic weapons and used unlocks wherever possible, but now that I've gone up a few ranks and my skills have increased I got used to the basic ones and get more kills using them than the unlocks (although for some reason I can't use the M24 but I can use the L96 ). Also using the basic ones just give you more prac for matches in leagues etc. This is just my humble opinion though

I think it is up to the person in general, whether they choose unlocks or basic, and the other people who bitch about the G36E being 'overpowered' or the M4 being 'too accurate for a basic gun' (as someone on my allied clan server said) should just get the fuck over it

and in case you're wondering I'm past hating the G36E. probably because...actually I don't know why. maybe because I use the M16?

how did I not catch that.. hmm well I don't hate the G36E.. IMO it's better than the m16 in some very important ways: with a G36 I can move and fire much more accurately than with an m16, it seems. Me being the universally hated flying pancake that can be quite useful.

Um...I didn't say you hated the G36E. I said I used to hate the G36E, if you'll recall that old thread where I said something about it.

people get mad probably because they get killed with a unlock that they dont have, either be because they dont have special forces or because they arnt ranked high enough. The g36e pisses the shit out of me when someone goes prone from 100m away and kills me in a burst when i have a ak101 that cannot do nearly the same thing, but i dont bitch about it, i just go pull out my g36e and go own them 2x as hard. Bitching about tanks on citymaps is perfectly fine, so is claymores, but complaining about a infantry weapon is just stupid and out of line.

tooshay....(did I spell that right) but from my relatively limited experience in BF2 the unlocks, FOR ME, are almost, almost always the best choice. But thats me... I deff. do see your side, tho.
