I think I'm the only one who didn't have a head set  until last night.  now that I have one I would really like to be able to use it.  Does any one know how to set this thing up.  I followed all the instructions that came with the logitech gamers headset.  I can hear the game when its plugged in, but I can't talk.  ( even when i pressed "b" or "v")  I looked in the audio section of the setup page and checked the box for VOIP.  However when I told it to do the check nothing happens, no sound. I cant say anything.  The mic has already been set up on the puter but not in the game.  Can some one please help this poor lost soul?

Thank you

you cannot hear yourself when you talk. Some bf2 servers SAY they have VOIP but really dont. Some peopple are too stupid to say YES or NO if you ask them if they can hear you. Look for servers with the VOIP logo.

The check didnt work for me either, I have a logitech USB. Make sure you plug it in be4 you start up BF2 or else it wont work if its usb.

You can test your mic setting in the BF2 config screen.  If you cannot hear yourself there, I would check under your audio card settings in Windows.  I would bet that your mic settings are probably turned way down or off.

first time you install BF2, you have to calibrate your mic, by talking, and moving a slide, until it's okay.. if you haven't had a headset before, you might skipped that part, when you installed the game..

me too, but I broke it. Well, it works fine, but I broke the base. Now I need to hold it to speak. Not very useful

Go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 and start BF2VoiceSetup.exe

If your voice is low/soft in the game you could go to config > sound etc > volume tab - advanced > microfoon tab - advanced > boost mic

if the microfoon tab is not there go to config > sound etc > volume tab - advanced > options > properties > vink microfoon

hope that helps.

Run skype at the same time as the game and you and five more of your team can speak in real time under the game whiteout interrupt the game sound and prevent udders to lien in and if you want to speak to anyone else joust pres "B"... Whit this setup you kan divide in to more groups an still talk....

It works for us......

Might I recommend that if you team up with the same people, to just use Roger Wilco? It's so much better and it's free once you find the crack which definately doesn't take long. My brother and I use RW all the time, it's great. I've run into a few problems myself but I think it might be my mic.

If it's not USB and you have it plugged in the front panel, you have to plug it in the back of the comp

- does it work outside bf2?

-try alt tabbing and check if your mic isn't muted.

-it might be your soundcard if you use onboard one, don't know how to fix it. (stuck here myself, I use Teamspeak or ventrilo)

-be sure the server you play on has voip enabled
