Agree i have that card but the load was unbearable with 1gb with 2 its first couple on server with all high.
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

It really depends on what resolution you want to run at.   If you are at 800x600 then you can run anything better than a 6600GT on high, but if you have a 1600x1200 res you need a high end card.

I run a 256mb GeForce 6800 Ultra and 1 gig Ram. All settings are High cept Shadows are Medium. The game gets some choppyness for the first few seconds in game but then goes away and runs perfactly fine. I think it's more of a RAM issue than a gcard issue.

yup, get another stick of a gigabyte and you'll be fine for BF2 and any other upcoming games for a while

as for the OP:

you will need at least a 6800 plain or higher (NOT the XT or GS), or an ATI x1800/x800 (not any version that has 12 pixel pipelines), and at least a GB of ram (1,5 or 2GB recommended for smoothness). Pick up an AMD 3800, and get a decent PSU (from a proper brand like Antec or PC Power & Cooling) that has 400-450 watts and dual +12v rails

Confused? you will be.

Also with graphics cards anything with -800 is great but don't expect much from like a 7300 or a x1300 those are the bargain versions of their gaming 7800 and x1800 cards..

I have a GeForce 6800 128 Mb, and I run most everything on High.  So I assume a 256 Mb card of the same level will run everything high.  Anything in the 7 series will run it, no problems.
