My neighbors were once in trouble with the cops, and an undercover cop who lives in the neighborhood was around, dressed in civilian clothes, didn't identify himself, and when my friend saw him coming at him, he ran, and bumped into him while riding his bike away. My parents went out to help (they're lawyers) and the cops at first weren't allowing him to see a lawyer, and second they were arresting them for resisting arrest and some other crap. All of which is against the law.
My mom was representing a black cop who was being racially discriminated by his fellow cops.
It's damn scary.

It's a shame to see a this kind of stuff happen in a country that prides itself on the freedoms it gives it's civilians, just shows that many cops abuse their power too much.
Reminds of another one I read recently where an army veteran was arrested while having a cup of coffee at a veteran's hospital, apparently he was "protesting" because he was wearing a shirt saying "peace" on it.

Since the cops also like taking pictures of harmless smokers and offering a reward for identification to try and fuck up their lives for no good reason, people should take pictures of cops and post them on the net, offering a small reward for identification and number. Then people can search it when they've been abused by police and need to file a report. It could be called piggiwiki.org

See this is the problem with giving people too much power. You have true hero's like the fire department and EMT's, then you have this sudo "hero's" like the police force, who get raised to an unwarranted position. People give them free stuff all the time, and they are trained to consider them self different then a civilian. All these people are are civilians who can legally kill you, or take away your property. I'm not saying it's just the police who are wrong it's our whole legal system, they are just the lap dogs who enforce stupid laws and violate people's civil liberties.
