Can anyone tell me where i can get the APPROPRIATE cables for my raptor? I just recieved it and it has ports on the back which i have no clue what they are. I do have a sata compatible machine etc, I just need to know what the cables are and where to get them.

I checked the WD website to find something called secureconnect or something?

Thanks, Dan.

They are called SATA cables and can be found at any PC retailer.

EDIT: They look like this: http://www.atechfabrication.com/images/ … e_data.jpg

My SATA cables came with my motherboard.

Those secureconnet cables are SATA2, and the best type of cable to use.
They probably cost a little more than the default cables found in most PC hardware retailers, but it is well worth it.
You got a Raptor because you wanted quality and performance, dont then connect it to your PC with some cheat & nasty cable.

Secureconnet is the way to go.

Hope this helps man.

You can use any SATA cable you want.  The secure connect cables simply have a type of locking mechanism to keep the cables from coming loose.  Unfortunately, loose cables are a bigger problem with SATA than the old traditional PATA.

The problem with SATA is "creep".  This is a condition where the repeated heating and cooling of the connectors cause them to slowly come loose.
