I was in the pub - my mate phoned me and told me what was going on, so we turned on the tv and sure enough burning towers. The landlord gave us all free crisps.

I was getting ready to go to work, didnt believe it at first.  I was totally absorbed by it, i couldnt move.  Fair to say i was late for work.  I also remember watching the Belsan (sp?) Siege and 7/7 London Bombings on the net!!! I just felt like "nah this cant be happening", seems so outlandish that it just cant be for real!  Fair to say those images and feelings will stay with me and i have a feeling there will be more of them to come

I was 8. I was waking up, groggy as usual from staying up late watching cartoons and came in to the main house (my old house was a main house [ichler] and sometime in the past 10 years my dad built a big sideroom into the yard which I used) to get ready. My dad, grandma, grandpa and mom were sitting in the room and they all looked pale, my mother moreso then the others. I asked what was up and they sat me down and told me I'm not going to school today. My joy of that was quickly gone when I saw a replay of the first plane hit then the live shot of the second one.

My entire family was devastated and the next school day was very depressing.

We were very worried because we had relatives (my aunt/uncle and cousins) in new york and they were pretty close to ground zero. We called them and they were ok, when they saw the first one hit they got out of the area as quickly as they could.

I'll never forget that day.

I was on my way to work, I left before it happened, and my work happened to be on the side of town that our air force base is on, and my work was  a mile and half from the air force base, so I get ready to drive by and there had the whole area shut down there was police and mp's all over the road, I was 4 hours late to work.

It happended at 14-15 over here in sweden, so i had just gotten home from school. I remember turning on the telly watching BBC world and they were showing the first tower smoking. The second was fine at the time, then suddenly you could hear this roar and the plane hits the second tower and i just froze. At first i couldnt think, i started to sweat, but after a few second rage started to erupt, i just got so mad, wtf did those poor people do huh? I swear, at the time if i was standing infront of a crowd of moslems with a gun i would've killed them all. I realise now that i guess they were innocent too, but i was just so angry.

I was at school, one of the other teachers came in the classroom and said that a plane had crashed (read from a standard speech/paper that all the teachers got). At lunch me nor any of my freinds belived it, we all joked about it just being a 747 that went through the middel blew of its wings and the blan kept going down the street just making a bump/hole or whatever in the road and destroying a couple of cars, it was not until i got home that i understood what happend and this was real.

P.S. do not say that i do not know what I am talking about and mix in timezones, I lived in NJ when it all happend...

EDIT:

P.S.P.S. at the time my dad was in a meeting in manhattan and was close enough to WTC to see people running in the street...

I was in a squat in a mashed up building with holes through the roof... saw the towers go down live... at the time I sort of believed the news that it was Islamic terrorists with the power to damage or even destroy the corrupt government of the USA, although I'm not so sure now it was, but that's another thread. 

As I saw it unfold I thought it might actually work in the terrorists favour and enlighten people in America to just how much bad sentiment existed towards their selfish and unreasonable foreign policy, and perhaps make the government in America wake up to the circle of violence being exacerbated by their actions.  I was proved wrong cowboy-style a month later.

I was just comed home from school, preparing to my first football match in my new team and looked what was coming on tv. I was watching a finnish channel that said there will be a extra news broadcast. I thought "huh?, extra news wtf going on?" When I was about to go the news came on and I saw the towers getting down and the flames roaring thinking "why?"
  The next day we talked about 2 hours about it in school and I can't think that anyone laughed that day..

I was a sophomore at Seton Hall University.  I was asleep when my at the time friend, now wife, called our room and woke us up saying that a plane just hit one of the twin towers.  I told her that that wasn't funny, but her persistence got me to turn on the TV and I was glued to it for the rest of the day.

I'm glad they're coming out with this movie.  We need to remember who the enemy is.  The enemy is not George W.  The enemy is those flaming crackers in the middle east who pray every day with an AK under their prayer mat.

I was still in school then... But I stayed home that day. Had a couple of friends stop by. Sparked up a doobie, flipped on the T.V. and saw the one tower in flames, then I saw the second plane hit in real time.

I went to N.Y.C. less than a month later, and the damage was still smoldering.

i was in 10th grade at an assembly at school when our principal came on the microphone with a serious tone and told us what had happened. we spent the rest of the day at school watching the news. when i got home i talked to my uncle who lived in NYC and he actually witnessed the second plane hit from his apartment. another weird thing off topic is that same uncle was on a plane when the stewardess told the passengers to look out the window and see the challenger in the distance, then it blew up.

I was sitting in my 5th Grade classroom, during snacktime, playing 2 simultaneous games of advance wars on a couple GBA's. The other 5th grade teacher walked in and started talking to mine about baseball, the Red Sox, yadda yadda. My teacher turned on the radio set, looking for the recap of last night's game, and instead hears live coverage from the towers. The whole room, seconds earlier bustiling with 5th grader activity, suddenly went dead quiet, and stayed that way until the principal announced over the intercom that we were having safety drills the rest of the day.

Hmm i have a very interesting story about that day. I was waiting for a bus all by my self. then i hear this massive bang!! and some dude on a motorbike got hit by a pickup.  So i ran down and this guys legs were twisted around each other like an double helix ( what DNA looks like) there was blood everywhere. So i started giving this guy first aid. So there he lay for about an hour, people milling around, doing nothing. and me look after this guy. trying to stop the bleed from his head and legs. putting into practice everything i had learnt.
covered in his blood, my mother (whom i had phoned, as the buses in SOuth africa suck!) comes and see the paramedics and thought i was hurt. I get into the car, still covered in blood. My mother gets a call from my dad, and sez that a plane flew into the WTC. got home just in time to see the second plane crash into the building. ran down to a friends place and watched it unfold from there. still covered in blood. it was madness. But on the other hand, what i did that day for that guy saved his life and it was even more rewarding to know that he had just become a father and was able to live out his life with his little girl.

I got up early that morning. For some reason I left the TV off. I was getting ready to go to Rhode Island with some buddies to surf. There was a good south swell. My cell phone ran and I got the news from Sven about the first plane. Everyone came over and we watched for about an hour or so in shock. We ended up going to Rhodie anyways. The waves just didn't seem all that great. I'll never forget that day.
