I just got SF, and played a few, and they own face, literally, I didnt lag at all! And thats on a nubby

1Gig Ram

And trust me, that shit lags a lot, and yet, SF was smooth as

To answer you the question in the title from my point of view:

My fingers aren't quick enough! I have problems to switch between night googles and normal view, when the light changes. So I'm always a second behind, what means I die very quickly. That's also the reason, why I haven't made the knife badge so far and why I'm a lousy ground pounder. Switching weapons, prone, stand up... all this things going on too slow with my fingers...

It annoys me, that I have very good reflexes but have problem with this. Perhaps, I have to learn to play a piano or something... to train this... uhhh, ohhh... leraning an instrument again with 34...

Thanx for the hint. I was thinking about the zboard also... very cool board. Point is, that I'm (like the forum title says) mostly play over lunch time at the office and just for fun. I think, I better spend the money for a nice dinner with my girl or an other gadget... I don't know for how long I will continue playing BF2... so I'm not sure if it's a good invest.

Yeah, I wish there were more Australian night map servers. I mean, Gamearena 10 rotates them, but there's day ones in there too, and that's a shame. There's that Internode server too, but most of the time I see it it's empty. Life is so tough.

Not when I had them up. They did actually pretty well, then the 1.3 patch came along...and the problem is that it was only full on the weekends and empty every other day...

THats when I had the lameass 32 server. Now its a 50...I've been getting alot of requests to change it back but when I did only 2 or 3 joined; and then talked how lame it was when no one was joining. First off a clan needs to get it started then it will take flight, our clan, half of them don't have SF.

People hate Night maps because its rather hard, it takes skill and brainwork, you can't be programmed to play Night Maps. Devils Perch even is a great map and I used to hate it, because I never played it enough. Night Maps take patience and alot of mindwork to make it likeable.

You guys are freaks, Im getting ready to cry and put the night map server back up...

I had that issue too untill I configured my mouse with the GM & NV commands. Now I switch in .1 second.

Most people complaining about it have performance issues with those map. But since 1.2, BF2:SF has a specific set of shadders for night maps and those map are better. So if people haven't tried night maps since 1.2, they should.

In my case, I like them, I just can't find good servers using them.

Night maps are awseome, but the problem is that players are either on drugs or drunk so they cannot see in the dark. I have never cared for Wake Island. Supposedly the most played 1942 map---shows what kind of idiots were playing that game too. Iwo Jima FTW!

Not true. THe server I just set up will always have night maps in it and was full on its third day.

No gaymores (gaymores FF damage max, other FF damage min)
No censorship
No extra rules
No perma bans
Just play da game.

We have leagues of members and friends supporting this so I believe it will take off.

I do promise that no matter how many nublets quit on the opening of a night map....we will never remove them...and we will still be there. I believe consistancy is the key.

I think the main problem with the night maps is the overall lag.
But with my old system (3.0Ghz, 1gbram 9600pro) i could play night maps lagfree on medium settings.
