I live in africa and i know and have seen the effect aids has on the country. Its fucked up, but why should we care, they dont really seem to care about themselves. If they did they would be a little more pro active about preventing the virus. But they dont. I mean here in SA we only have like 100 000 odd on arv's of a population of 40 million where more than 40% of our population in infected! FANTASTIC!

AIDS is bad as it kills millions each year, but think about it this way. If you dont have it JOY! and those ppl that have it, well theres one less person to get in your way or buy that packet of chips you've been wanting!

AHh its good to be a minority!

It's not some magical disease, for the 99.9999% of people that have it, you get it from personal irresponsibility. Where's the confusion?

Also, the roman catholic church shares a big part of the blame in this case. The church disapproves of any kind of birth control so they actively campaign in Africa telling the people not to use them. Especially condoms. They either say condoms will not prevent AIDS or even worse, that condoms actually cause HIV infection.

well fucking around is a sin, too, I doubt that anyone that doesn't have a problem sinning once would have a problem sinning twice

they also believe that you can cure aids by fucking a virgin in africa, this has led to many innocent and very young girls being raped, the dumbasses, they deserve to die of aids (the rapists, not the girls)

Oh please dont come walzing in and say "Ah they are so stupid, they deserve no better". The people need to be educated! That's the best cure against any disease! If they had such good AIDS prevention and information campaigns all over Africa (and I am particularly speaking of the rural regions) as we have here in Europe and North America then we would see a significant drop in infections. Just because they dont know any better does not mean they are stupid.

Yeah, because the BILLIONS we've sent to "inform" them of AIDS has done a world of good right? This disease has been around how long? How many LIVE-AID concerts do we need?

At some point you're own your own if you can't teach people to control their impulses.

just so your aware many people in Africa especially young males 18-20 year old believe that if you have sex with a virgin you cure the disease. the younger the better the cure is, this is why just recently 4 guys raped a baby girl. so they could get rid of AIDS. now this shit ain't right.

Knowledge is power if people in Africa were more educated about the disease then this sort of shit wouldn't happen.

hold on now, as i understand it half of the problem in Africa is children being born with it.
Hardly their fault now is it.

To add to the insanity some people are now intentionally infecting others. Some one has recently been convicted of this in the UK.
His theory was "some slapper gave me the disease, i am going to give it to as many people as i can" what a retard. He was involved as much as her. And now and then we hear of it happening again.
Some think that if your having unprotected one night stands its you own fault, but this guy went out to intentionally infect!

that is certainly a part of the problem. Another huge element is the continued spread of it through unprotected sex. Those found to be guilty of willfully having unprotected sex while diagnosed as HIV positive with an unwitting partner are guilty of attempted murder here in the states, or worse.

Hm I see your logic: throw enough money at the problem and it will dissolve itself. What do you think? We can just print some more flyers for them and post them at the local walmart? It is a CONTINENT that has been plundered and raped by the western countries for centuries and those countries are still in debt with the "first world" countries.
Obviously there have not been enough live-aid concerts. It is very easy of us, who live in such a privileged world , to say it's their own fault. Wait until you are on the other side of the fence and the opinion will change dramatically.
