reminder that US was the only country to repeatedly veto and abstain from voting with regards to Israel. They deserved the resolutions because the world agreed they should have stopped. They continued building settlements within the borders of palestine, and making new roads to facilitate the military, while cutting old roads used by Palestinians. Basically to go anywhere a palestinian must pass through various checkpoints. The media portrays this unfolding as a case of Israel defending itself, but, the fact is Israel is illegally occupying the land and destroying Palestinian homes for no reason. They made it impossible for Palestinians to get building permits, and destroy permits at their own whim. This is a fact. They have monstrous military bulldozers designed for taking houses down in minutes. Look at a map of the territory. Look at a map of jewish settlements in Israel and see that since 1967 over 60% of the land that was Palestine has been 'expropriated' illegally from those people. Israel has a right to self defense. That was never in question, what is in question is that they are on defense. They are not, they are attacking across international borders and killing indiscriminantly. No efforts have thus been made to verify membership in Hesbollah before they shoot. Not a caase of self defence. If this was happening inside Israel it would be entirely different. It isn't, it was occupation and is occupation. Israel is now occupying southern Lebanon and who knows how long it could last. With US veto power, Israel has gotten away with illegally occupying Gaza/West Bank since 1967. In WW2 after the US defeated Germany, you left, didn't colonize for the sake of attacking under the guise of defense, didn't call it part of mainland America, etc.lowing wrote:

Maybe Israel deserved those resolutions.lowing wrote:
THE U.N.'s RECORD VIS A VIS ISRAEL
Prior to the Madrid Conference, of '91, the office of Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir commissioned Shai Ben-Tekoa to do a statistical analysis of U.N. voting vis a vis Israel. The following is a summary of Mr. Ben-Tekoa's research.
Summary
Security Council:
175 Total Resolutions
74 Neutral
4 Against the perceived interests of an Arab state or body
97 Against Israel
General Assembly:
Cumulative Number of Votes cast with/for Israel: 7,938.
Cumulative Number of Votes cast against Israel: 55,642.
Now this is the Bottom LINE in this discussion, I could spend all day and site search after search as to how the UN is anti-Semitic........Now, your challenge is to show me sites where the UN,IN FACT, has been historically fair and favorable to Israel.......Good luck.
Israel wasn't being fair so the UN wasn't fair on Israel it's that simple, look at the actions that corellate with the resolutions.
