Imortal<--- Even though I agree with you that there has to be changes in the Kits section of the game. I personally believe that its better the way they are making it in BF2142. With only four kits, total. Instead of 7 or a lot more, like you are suggesting. Then you wont end up in a situation were you're a sniper behind a tank, and cant blow it up with a C4. Or a medic with no ammo, etc. See were I'm going?

Altough i must say I still think your Ideas abut the kits are cool and smart, and would not at all be disappointed if the next game would have those options.
I understand.  I was trying to see what was more important, the weapon, or the special ability of that kit.  Does it matter if a medic has a shotgun or an assault rifle?  AS long as he has his aid bag and shock paddles, I am happy.  Granted, with a sniper, his weapon IS his special ability.  I am hoping to see alternatives creep in here.  Maybe, with luck, after all this posting we can have a concpet we can jsut hand over to EA/DICE.  The concept is sometimes the hardest part.

Actually those are pretty nice ideas imortal.

I think the mortar class should go to the insurgents like in warlord instead of having artillery pieces.
I still think commander assets.  once they are taken out,  its out.

Weapons:

Ok,  the weapons are fine in BF2,  but I still think the Engineer, Anti-Tank kit should get the standard AK-101, AK-47, M16 as the default.  (However still adding the other default class guns like the MP5,S12K, Type 95)

To increase love for the Sub-Machine guns,  I think an idea would be adding close to 0 recoil,  but having bullet drop greatly after maybe like 100ft?

And regarding teamkilling.  Take out the teamkilling(friendly fire),  less people would get angry playing BF2 & no M95 sniping out of vehicles.  I dont even understand why friendly fire is required for ranked.  People still lob gernades everywhere and killing friendlies in the process its human nature to do it in a game. The required friendly fire in ranked servers ruins some of the fun in BF2.  As tempers flare because of getting killed by your own teamate when you were "owning" and the frustration of getting a -4 and a "You were punished for a teamkill!" on your screen.

People might counter if FF was on,  it would be spamming gernades,  explosives.  But regarding teamkiling with dummy explosives ( claymore, AT mine)  they should have done it in Delta Force.
Explosives like those explodes when a teammate runs over it, but does no damage or kill the friendly.  This balances out the claymore and AT spamming.

EDIT +1 to imortal.  Very well thought out.
