how do i update my BIOS??

i am trying to update my bios...

i have an asus a8n-sli... can someone help me out. what will updating the bios do?

my rig
asus a8n sli
amd64 3500
2x 7900gt
2 gigs corsair
sb xi fatality
wd 160
aspire 680 beast power psu
thermaltake tsunami dream

current bios is a8nsli revision 1004.

any help would be great.

Hm, ever heared about the autoupdate feature on ASUS Boards? Try this one, its pretty easy and there is nothing you can do wrong. Otherwise, just check the ASUS site, select your Mainboard and you will see a list of updates for it.

well i have the asus updater and when i choose to update from internet it just loses connection to the server. i guess what im asking is how to do it manually. BTW your there is only one link to the asus site, didnt get your first one where you said try this one.

Hi there,

Take the manual option.......look up the mainboard from asus and find the Bios file download to your computer open the Asus update program and update manually from your saved file.....safer to do it that way

Yep, there is only one link. Strange it appears sometimes the auto update looses connection. Anyways, check the site mentioned above, search your board (you should find it easy) and select bios_version from the list.
