currently, I use a MX500, but I am looking to get a new mouse soon. I like the MX518 or the G5, mainly because of the shape of the mouse. The Razer products seem to small and it always feels like I am losing grip
when I play a Diamondback or Copperhead.

Adjustable sensitivity is nice, but you do realize that you can set different sensitivities for each movement category in the game already ?

I'd never buy a wireless mouse for gaming, those batteries tend to run out at the most unfortunate moments.

In the end, it's all about how the mouse "feels". Technical features should not be the top priority. The top products from Logitech or Razer have comparable features anyway. But they differ considerably in design.

don't forget to get a good mouse pad. Icemat v3 + Glide tapes ftw...

Despite the MX518 being older these are both solid choices. FWIW the MX518 has an additional thumb button (that they removed from the G5 design for no good reason!) which could be very useful depending on one's style of play, but the G5 is supposed to have a little better software to map keys etc. from what I've read.

I've been using the MX518 since X-mas, and that mouse really kicks butt.  Nice to have all the programable keys.

Sexy-beast that Copperhead....  I got one in April and can clearly see a sharp rise in my stats coinciding with my purchase.....
I'm happy to read that, I just bought one from woot.com yesterday for $34.99-- but it is green.  I like the blue better, but if it'll improve my accuracy, I'll be happy.
