Right now I have an onboard, and its crappy!
All the artillary strikes slows it down to 15 FPS.
Since I want to get a new one.
So please take a screenshot, and post what GFX card you have use this:

Good cards depend on two things:

1) Your price range
2) Your current hardware

#1 is obvious, you can't go out and buy a GF7900GTX if you can't afford one. But definately pick a card with superior processing, not more memory. You can play max res even on a 64MB card
#2 is more tricky. If your board supports PCI express, get one of these cards, even if you have to get a "lower model" than the AGP. AGP is good, but PCI express is able to communicate x16 in BOTH directions, whereas AGP will only comunicate x1 in one direction and x(whatever your AGP speed is) in the other. This is a frequent source of graphics slowdown. Also consider how much memory you have. More memory allows for faster loading, but not if you can't render the maps equally fast. So get at leat 768 MB of ram (pref 2 GB) before getting a new card. Also look at your CPU speed. Anything less than 1500Mhz is going to get chuncky when you get a new card, because the CPU cannot handle things as fast as the GPU on the graphics card.
So in conclusion: Get the best card you can, but before buying a new one ensure that you have:
* at least 768 MB of ram (more is better)
* a decent CPU
* a Mainboard with PCI express support and a fast chipset (pref no south bridge)

With 2 GB of memory, I can play the game lag-free in decent res and reasonably high settings on all of my PCs, even the one with a crappy Radeon x800 on-board card.

What's the best AGP Video Card money can buy? Not PCI Express, but AGP?

I've got an old crappy one and I'd like to get the best AGP Video Card available on the market today.

7900GS. I cant belive they still make them. I was looking to buy a dell with one until I noticed it was a GS not a GT. And you might be better buying a new motherboard because Im pretty sure the PCI E cards are cheaper. And also you would want a pretty good proccesor and 1-2 gigs of RAM if you want to run AGP. It dosent seem to run as smothely as a PCI E as far as I can tell.

Definitely.

I have a 6800gt and it works just fine.  I never used to run my graphics on high because, to be honest, I just didn't care.  I liked getting into a server first and not having to wait forever to exit the game.  However, now with 3gb of RAM, that's not an issue.  I run everything on high with AA, dynamic lighting, and dynamic shadows turned off...I get about 55fps on average.

I recommend the 6800gt.  It's a good card and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

People have been saying "wait for directX 10" for over a year.  Still there's nothing that says when it's coming.  I say spend the money now and start saving for later, because there's not going to be anything that can't be played on decent current cards until several months after directX 10 comes out.

direct X 10 will come out at the end for this year... and he has AGP, not PCIE. if he has pci-e then ill tell him to get 7900gt

xfx 7900gt extreme 520 is wot i have and it is spot on, Also have 2 gig of ram and opty 146.  i would say get a pci e motherboard and save your self the bother of pay over the odds on an agp card. the motherboard and pci e card will be cheaper than an agp 7900. im from the uk and i think its about £100 difference in agp than pci e for 7900

Try the following setup:

Motherboard - Albatron K8 SLi
CPU             - AMD 3500+
RAM             - 2x512MB 400MHz DDR
Video Card   - 1x7600GT (saving up for another 1)
Box             - Some generic box with 430w PSU
        TOTAL COST: approx AUD$1200

Runs very nicely. Have most settings on hi (effects are Med tho and AA 2x). Its all i can afford (and in my most humble opinion), the 7900GTX 512 is a waste of money, especially since cheaper cards can do the same job.

Wow, someone built a computer off Newegg for me for the same price with a better video card, processor, another gig of RAM, 500w powersupply.
