1 gig of memory, AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester

I'm just looking for the best video settings I can run on this. It's the lack of WS support on the monitor that I know limits my options. I've heard some use some settings somehow and have black bars on the side of the monitors, which i think would drive me nuts but i'm not sure.

Anyone run this set up or similar?

Not a similar setup at all, but im pretty sure if you spend on one more gig of ram you can run everything on high.

(sorry for the vagueness)

im running bf2 @ 1680x1050 16:10 max everything 4x aa 4x af on a Gateway FPD2185W
i too have the 7900gt and i totally agree with MuseSeeker another gig of memory will make a world of difference and if u add this command line to your bf2 exe(right click it goto properties) C:\BF2\BF2.exe +menu 1 +wisdescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050 (thats assuming your using C:\ and your default game directory) just change the 2 sets of #'s to whatever res works best for you and wallah...bf2 in ws. i hope this help you

well, you could easily, but you would get massive amounts of just-joined-server-lag, so i disagree...i think, however, you could still run on high with shadows on med/off, lighting on med. geometries on med and everything else cranked (AA4x). cause its the loading that lags you at the beginning ( i used to run a 1gb RAM, 128mb 6600gt setup on high, no lag cept on map-load.

What settings could i run my bf2  at i have:
7600gt
2x512 pc3200
AMD athlon 64 3200+ venice
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

I can run on high at 1280x1024 4x aa with my intel p4 540 (lol) 1.5 gig of ram and a 7800gt
