Sorry to say, but you won't get good play out of that card. That is ATi's budget card, mcuh like the 6200 is to nVidia. To even hope to get playable FPS, you will not be able to exceed 1024x768 (if even that high) and most everything else will have to be all the way down or off.
And when I say budget line, I mean that is their least expensive card. The fact of the matter is that the 512MB of RAM is all marketing. That card simply doesn't have enough power to push a game that could utilize a 512MB frame buffer. A faster card with only 256MB of RAM would be far more preferrable.

hmmm I'm gonna go with yes but not on high detail.
to whoever said its like the 6200: Thats BS, the 6200 is a previous generation card whereas the x1300 is a very much current albeit budget card.
At the moment ATI pwns Nvidia on the budget end, the best NV have is the 7300GS which although a fair bit cheaper than the x1300 sucks meaty wang. This will change when the 7300GT is finally released over here, I've read reviews which suggest it outstrips the 6600GT which would be really rather impressive for a budget card.
My suggestion to you would be to go for something like a 7600GT from Nvidia or an X1600 from ATI, these are both mid range cards. The 7600GT I know kicks ass and can be had for a smidge over £120, not sure about the x1600 id say only go for that if you're desparate for an ATI card.
Bottom line is that the x1300 aint the best choice if you wanna get the best from BF2, shell out a little more cash and you'll have a card thats in a whole other ballpark.

Low settings only, medium at the most.

OCUK have 7600GTs for under 120
or 7600 GSs for under 80

I would suggest just bumping up your regular ram to 2 gigs. You only have one listed. I think that video card will do just fine on high detail.
You don't say whether you're AGP or PCI-E. It can make a hell of a difference.
oh sorry, ill be PCI-E, the 7600Gs looks tasty ;P
to be fair, the x1300 is simiular to the old ati 9550 in architecture and standards etc. and to be fair i love the old 9550. cost me 50 squids back in the day and it coped with alot.
my house mate has a 9550 256mb, 768mb ram, and an amd 64 300 chip 120gb hd sata. he can play battlefield fine at these settings: 1024x768 geo.texture on high, lighting and shadows off, 2x aa. smooth game play too. and it looks pretty smart
i reckon the x1300 should be able to cope quite nicely too. altho, for an extra £30 u cud get my card from ebuyer. x850xt 256mb. eats games for brekkie. but if your on a tight budget, i say give it ago, u can always send it back
