You know where you can roam the battlefield like a spectator. I don't know how to do it, but I've had it done unintentionally where I'm moving the arrow keys and somehow my view is ripped away from my body if I'm killed by something really explosive.

I think you press C when you're dead.  Make sure you haven't got a spawn point selected

Some servers allow the "free camera" view and some don't.  It's a setting server-side.  In BF2CC it can be found by clicking on settings and going to the Miscellaneous tab and Camera Views.  If it's allowed, you can do it when you're dead or waiting to spawn at the beginning of a game.

Only some servers have Free Cam enabled. Just press the Space-bar to go into free cam mode when you are dead and unable to be revived.

C just puts me on 3rd person who is already ingame. I'm looking for secrets in Great Wall. So far I found a heli-pad. Oh well, it's not working on the server I know it works on.

Space bar isn't working. What is it default for?
