what a load of self glorifying crap, she wasn't being stopped because she was reading the independent, she was stopped because she decided to sit down in front of the PM's fucking house (isn't that what 10 downing street is?), same thing would happen if she had been reading Dr. Seuss or been in front of any other comparable diplomatic facility, this is just the Independent trying to make itself into something it's not...

it does not say why her friend was arrested, only that he had copies of the independent on him, and what she was handed was sort of a citation, a written record of why the cop stopped to check her out, kinda like a cop writing you a warning for being  3 mph over the speed limit when he realizes your not drunk or running drugs instead of actually issuing a ticket, only this wasn't even a warning, they purposefully word it in a manner to make you think that the cops over there are on the lookout for people carrying the independent, really, go rent "The Cat in the Hat" from the library and plop down in front of Australia's parli (is that what you call it, weird that I don't know) and see if you don't get checked out,

I think it was just a matter of the cop trying to keep as detailed record as possible, he was probably more interested in the sign hanging around her neck, it may as well have been a neon one stating "potential security threat!"

in a police action there is no such thing as a minor detail, hmm.... it's too late to call my bro, maybe there's an enforcement officer on here that could explain a lil mo, hell if she was smoking a cig I would have written that down too, or maybe he wanted to note it in case the publication eventually turned out to be telling people to go to downing and do this, could have been anything

i don't think it had anything to do with why he checked on her, the sign and the fact she was hanging around downing street were the reason, he just wrote down what she was doing

it was Scotland Yard doing it's job, get over it, she went there literally asking for attention with that sign around her neck, and that's exactly what she got
