I forgot the link but some Japs made a thing that you could use Cardboard as a case with all the components inside.

I think it would just catch on fire though?

uhh its been done wayyy to many times. Milk crates are often also used. If you stop by pcapex.com and go to the gallery you can see thousand of moded cases.

More likely if it were an Intel, as they run hotter. However, since paper burns at about 230degreesC, nothing will burn.

So, no, the case would not catch on fire. If any of your components reached that temperature, you PC would be toast way before it could start a fire.

i had a neighbor that put his custom comp in a cardboard box...it looked a little better than that, but it was really cool, cause from the outside it looks like a...cardboard box...ran a little hotter than it wouldve in a steel/aluminum case, but nothing fried...
