no, not possible. the cards need to be exactly the same (down to bios)
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

A 6600 or higher is SLI capable and you need the same exact cards for SLI to work. A SLI Motherboard, 550W power supply, and the SLI bridge are also required.

like others mentioned, you need the same card.. but not to the extent that you need a duplicate of the same card.  If you can find another GeForce 6600 card then the possibility is there to still pair it up with your current card.  However, the drawback is if you happen to find another card that is by another manufacturer (ie. EVGA instead of ASUS), the SLI connector on the card may not be positioned the same as your current card.  Usually getting a similar "speed grade" card but different submodel should (keyword = should) make it possible to still SLI up and get the two cards running.  The recent series of drivers ought to make that possible to do despite possible clock speed differences or brand differences.

I hope this clears everything up.  And good luck hunting that second card down if you're continuing your search!
