for 400 bucks get 1900xt preffered. but u can get 7900gt
Cyborgs got it, the x1900 is the best card in the $400 price range so there's a good bet for you.
But I myself don't like ATi mainly because of poor crossfire results but conviently for you, so far a crossfire setup with the 1900 works pretty damn well.
Can't say the same for the other ATi cards, nVidia beats those setups easy.

I have the 7800GT, and the thing blows anything I've ever had outa the water. Don't think I'll ever buy anything but Nvidia from now on.
