Advice on new computer

Alright im plannign on upgrading my computer this summer and i need some help.

Right now i Have:

AMD athalon 2200
160GB Serial ATA
ATI AIW 9600 AGP
1gb DDR RAM
ASUS A7n motherboard

Basically i want to run BF2 on high graphics and no lag, at the same time i dont want to spend a fortune, im thinking just getting a PCI motherboard,videocard,and new peocessor and Ram. You dont have to go out and look at prices just give me your ideas.

You mean PCI-E motherboard, and with a pci-e card you can run all high if you have the right stuff. An AMD processor and about 1-2 gigs of RAM should do the job. Just make sure you get an ATI X800 or higher, or an Nvidia 6800 or higher if you want to run all high.

Try something like this:

Motherboard - Albatron K8 SLi
CPU - AMD 3500+
Video Card - GeForce 7600GT (am waiting for my tax return to buy another one)
HDD - WD 200GB SATA
Box - Some generic box with a 430w PSU
RAM - 2x512MB Generic 400MHz (mobo doesnt like 1x1GB stick of Generic RAM)
Cost: AUD$1200

DFI NF4 ultra $85ish
AMD Opteron 165 $260ish
2 gigs DDR500 $150ish
gforce 7900gt $150ish

I'd recommend you top it off with a new hard drive, case and power supply for your remaining $150.

If you do get a seagate sata drive along with an antec sonata II case and you'll be as happy as a pig in mud. For good prices on all the parts go to fatwallet and search their hot deals forum.

meh ... i get that too all the time. it seems as if we have some guy who gives out -1 to everyone who has a better pc than comodore64 (his pc)
