Well, i did a quick searhc but didn't know what to search for so here i go.  I currently have 1.5 gig of ram. What i want to do is allocate ram allowences. Eg (have windows allowence of 500mb and a programs allowence of 1 gig)

How would i go about doing this? Thanks.

P.S: If it helps, i have 2 512 sticks and 2 256 sticks

Unless you really know what your doing, and are willing to spend the time tweaking, let windows have what it wants (usually between 500-800MB) and the rest go to open programs. If you're having performance issues, you might consider creating a 5 gig partition on a non-system drive and assigning the page file to that drive. Let me know if you're intersted, I'll type out some instructions for you.

Can't do that. I only have 10 gig left on my c drive and my d drive is full (system image etc)

Why would i need to backup? Most of thw 140gig i've used is in programs. I've used another 80+ gig in files which are stored on my file server.
