Guys i need a new monitor i have a 17" now but i want a 20" or above, i really dont know what to look for in a monitor only i want it TFT not CRT, any 1 know any one know any good makes i have £350 but i really dont wanna spend it all. So please post good monitors cause i dont know what makes a monitor good or bad.
I would buy a Samsung 21" CRT SyncMaster 1100MB.
In Sweden it cost 400€,and it seems to be a really nice monitor.

Your not going to get a lot for £350 if you want a 21".
What you want to get out of a monitor depends on what you want it for.
IE playing games, you want a good responce time, ie 8ms or better. But most games do not have a great depth of colour so you dont need a super high contrast ratio. You would also want a monitor that puts out standard resolutions ie 1280x1024 or 1600x1200, not a widescreen monitor as a lot of games dont have widescreen modes.
But for playing DVD's, rendering graphics, you may want a widescreen version with a high contrast ratio but slower responce times.

BenQ 20.1" Widscreen LCD 8ms 1680x1050 can be grabbed for just under $300, but not sure if you can get your hands on one in England. It's a great monitor though, and I just bought it yesterday after researching it for more than a month. Good luck.
I have the SyncMaster 940 BF 19" LCD and it works perfectly fine
I'm on a 19" LG 1920. Excellent picture and response time. No matter what monitor you get, get the smallest response time you can get. With a long response time you will see ghosting.
