I play BF2 and have gone through a few tweaking guides. One of the suggestions is that I run a registry cleaner. What is the best free reg cleaner out there, and if there are store bought reg cleaners that are better, what ones are the best? I am also just wondering if the reg cleaner is horse shitt or if it actually does a good job.

Reason I am trying to tweak is because I am getting lower FPS than I want. I run an Athlon XP 3200+ on a A7N8X rev 2, 74G Raptor, X800XL, 2G Samsung Ram. Thanks

Use System Mechanic 5 or 6. Google it and download it. Helps alot.

I used Registry Mechanic twice and twice I had big problems.
I use CCleaner now without any problem.
In any case, always back up your registries before cleaning.

CrapCleaner (CCleaner) is the best.

Small, easy to use and very fast. I recommend it also.

Ditto. Cleans everything out and it's astonishingly fast. I can't remember all the things I didn't expect it to clean because I ended up reinstalling Windows from scratch after using it but be aware you'll probably lose your browser histories in case these are important to you.
