Ok time for n00b question of the month. Does your mouse really make a difference? I am using the standard one that came with my computer and it seems just fine for infantry type stuff that I normally do. Maybe I just don't see it.

i can not deal with normal mouses I love being able to move the mouse 2 inches and turn around completely.  It has made me a better player.

I've got the G5 recently and it hasn't made a massive difference to the game, although I did have good mouse before that.

Being able to swap the res on the fly is very nice for armour, switching it to 2000 dpi for while in the tank, down to 800 dpi for ground pounding.

If you're after a new mouse I would recommend actually getting your hands on the mouse before buying just to make sure it's comfortable.

In summary, on the fly res changing a good thing IMHO, as to which mouse you actually buy, go for the most comfortable.

It will not do anything to your gameplay but it will guaranteed help out big time when it comes to button configuring. Ya i too can pwn with my old laser mouse, or even my ball mouse that came with the system but you will not find those older type mouses with extra buttons. I just hate those days when your finger misses or slips over the button and you die either from parachute not opening, not ejecting out of any vehicle in time or eating teargas nades. IMHO i think it makes BIG difference because with this mouse i can access the buttons in a more quick, easy, and smooth fashion rather then missing or slipping pass the button cause its the fck!ng f9 or any f'n/# keyboard button and its just to far to get to or its just impossible to run, move, or access those f or # buttons set on keyboard. Either way if you can access the buttons better with a good or shitty keyboard/mouse then by all means go, but as for me Better Mouse FTW.

I bought the G5 when it came out, I love it. They both have shift on the fly dpi which can help. When your in a tank and you set it up to 2000 dpi u can spin the tureet around really fast.

mx510 here. Mice = overpriced in holland. Along with keyboards, and headsets. Oh, and video cards. Whoops, almost forgot about motheboards too. They're expensive. And processors. And RAM. The powersupplies are overpriced too. and the DVD drives! Not to mention the cooling or monitors. And cases too, waaay too expensive.

I have a G7, which is pretty much a G5 with no wires and I have no problems with it, I'm very pleased with it the only problem is the lack of extra buttons. But I find everything else is good. The only other button I really need on the mouse is the one by my thumb, for teamspeak.

So if you don't need lots of extra buttons, go for the G5.
