Laugh at me if you want, but Compaq laptops have so far been the kindest to me.Buzerk1 wrote:
For Desktop...HIGH end Desktop? Build yourself, you will be better off when you want to upgrade... but for laptops.... Dell and Toshiba are the best..... Some will say Sony...unnamednewbie13 wrote:
True, Dell support is better than many other mfg's (Gateway...), but people should be careful if they ever want to upgrade one. Two of my friends had the AGP issue I mentioned when they went to upgrade their graphics for 3D applications and games, but were shocked to find that the port had been sawn off of Dell's edition of the motherboard which was, from the motherboard's site, perfectly capable of running AGP. So they were left with no alternative but to either buy a new motherboard, or a plain old PCI video card. One just bought a new custom-built PC, and I dunno about the other.Buzerk1 wrote:
My experience with Dell i with laptop only... and after 6 Dell (3 personal and 3 at the office), I never had any major problems and always good support from Dell Canada. I can only talk about my experience.
You mean "HP" don't ya ... they are decentunnamednewbie13 wrote:

I want a 7600GT, I already have a 6600GT. The thing I don't like about buying gfx cards are that the older ones pile up. Right now I have an ATi 9100, 9600, and a couple of old gfx cards from the early 90s from my oem computers.
LOL ive only got an acer and i can still run my BF2 graphics on high!!! There shit tho, they cost next to nothing:) Ive got an ATi Mobility Radeon 9700 card, is that any good?Buzerk1 wrote:

You must O.C. your graphic card to play on high.... I had the Mobility Radeon 9800 and was playing on medium (but with a screen resolution of 1900x1200).ednodes wrote:

It's a good card, but... it's already a 2-3 years old technology....
