Get another gig of RAM.  Maybe a bigger hard drive too, but getting another gig should be a top priority.

You probably use PCI-e so here's a nice Radeon X1800XT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6814102624

Needs 450-watt power supply though.

One thing though, now when I play BF2 in sp, I lag like crazy.. Is that a ram or harddrive problem??

nvidia 6800 gt it'll last you until dx 10 comes out.  I have 2 gb of ram and i play all high settings 4 x AA on 1900 x 1200 resolution...

If there's any lag, it more than likely has to do with RAM.

Yeah, I've had to set my system settings to low as of late....    And I still get lag.
Either get the X1800XT or more RAM.  After having a 6600GT, you're going to want something powerful that can play it on high settings.

IMO, for better sp performance u should upgrade your CPU, to some above 3GHz with Hyper Threading*. but RAM should be main priority. Your GFX Card is not that old, at least 18 months, but there isn't that much improvements with GFX cards at all, most use still 256 MB, (unless u pay round 800 bucks for some ueberGFXprototypejustreachedproduction) they only mess with multi GPU possibility and some tweakings, main difference comes with the shaders, both ATI and NVIDIA joining up shader model 3.0 (what you already have with your 6600).a friend of mine upgraded to some NVIDIA 7800 GTX (don't know which one exactly, but how much he paid) and as far i can tell, there is no improvement with his graphics in BF(b4 he had a X800)

//EDIT
*= INTEL

His mobo might not support hyper-threading.  3GHz is awesome though, assuming you use cable rather than DSL or it still lags like a bitch.  People are saying 2GB of RAM is great so upgrading to that would be a VERY good idea; BF2 loads faster, there's less lag, and you can run a lot more applications without locking up.
