Due to the countless complaints about the v1.3 patch my GSP has decided that if we want to we can revert our servers back to v1.22.

Now my server is userally full 24/7 and i am worried aboutt his but im doing it anyway, server crash's are not cool and its not good fun when you get your server full only to have it crash again.

I'm sure all BF2 players are aware of the bugs introduced by the v1.3 patch.
Since the plan for the next patch, detailed on the recent community update, indicates that any resolution to this is still some way off we have been considering our options over the past few days. The result of this is that, although not Officially authorised by EA / Dice, we now feel its the least we can do to enable you our valid customers to choose which version of BF2 server you want to run.

So until the crash issues are resolved you will be able to run v1.22 if you choose.
To do this simply:

* Select your Profile in ClanForge.
* Go to Addons.
* Select the "Misc Addons" under "Available".
* Select the "Use old patch ( v1.22 )" addon.
* Click "<- Add"
* Save the Profile and restart your server.

You can switch back to v1.3 at any time by removing the Addon from your Profile.

Note: Not all mods / maps are compatible with v1.22 e.g. all Armored Fury maps require v1.3, please keep that in mind if you have any issues starting your server with the v1.22 addon selected.

So what are your opoins on this and should other GSP's take the same action, multiplay.co.uk who i rent from are the only people in the UK whom you can get a ranked server from, and i back this decission fully, your thoughts?

A lot of the awards nowadays are tied up into v1.3. I won't revert back to 1.3 unless my squad does and I don't see that happening..

All you have to do is install the full 1.3 patch and thats it. The PTG server has and there server doesnt crash of what i know.

Wow, another, i'm not good enough for 1.3 so i'll downgrade to the other patches.

That's seriously pathetic. I crash a bunch of times, I lag, I lose connection, my ping isn't that great its usually in the 70's or 90's or more on European servers.

-I have 512 ram
-256mb 6600 nvidia card
-AMD XP 3200+
-a wired factory made keyboard and mouse
-I have Verizon DSL that chokes everytime I get a phone call so I get disconnected

Yet through it all I still stick to 1.3.

Yea, the FMH clan I heard did this too and I havent been on there server when it crashed once. I was on when the admin restarted it and he warned us before that.

i am trying, and our server is so heavily admin'd there are at least 3on at anyone time, some sporting our tags. some not

Bull
PTG are hosted by Multiplay on the same build of box as I have with the same instalation. They also crash.

I'm probably going to split the DMZ servers between the versions and see what proves popular.

If you don't believe that 1.3 patch has had a serious impact on play how's this for a stat. The global play time on BF2 has more than halved since the release of 1.3. Just seeing my server empty after a crash sometimes makes it clear why.

I don't really think a GSP reverting to 1.22 is going to make EA care at all about 1.3's stability issues. I think they are going to plod ahead at whatever pace they are already going. It's like the old telephone company motto, "EA...we don't care. We don't have to."
