yeah, that should work.
And as said you will need a hell load of mem (you are afterall runnung a server and a game).

Dont know however if 3.5 gigs is enough (win 32bit has problems with more), and currently there are no 64 bit OSes which will run games well (xp 64 bit is a nightmare, and Vista 64 bit is super slow and low performing).

maybe it might work in the form of virtual windows Xp on top of a 64bit Linux distro (sorry, i'm a complete Linux n00b)

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I think that 3gb of ram should be okay for the server and the game... as long as it is a fairly small server.  Don't plan on more than probably 12-16 people at max.  And that is assuming you have a fat pipe to transfer all of that information.

Or a set of 15K SCSI HDs (i think thats as fast as it goes except for "RAM-HDs") in RAID 0 could help minimize the effect of memory lack (because of a fast pagefile access). The SCSI controller should not be connected via a PCI bus because the bandwith would probabely be too low. A PCI-X or PCI-e (do those even exist?) connection is probabely the best bet.

Also i agree that a "high-end" internet is necessary. You will especially need a good (i.e. low ping) connection and a static IP adress.
