God, I hate it, support our "troops"

A troop is a group of something like a group of soldiers.

Thats like saying, "Support our batallions" Its just SUPER gay.

I think it should be "Support our Soldiers" They are individual people. The army has its motto "An army of one" here, so why don't we stress that?

I'm always hearing "Troop pullout" Technically that means that they are taking out a group of them. And when stupid John Kerry was saying "Bring out troops home" It BUGS THE HELL out of me.

just come on. It doesnt make any sense when thinking about it.
UHM... Last time I checked they ARE a group of soldiers so that makes them troops? and theres no difference?? lol

Since you want to speak about how to properly say it, last time I checked the English language, when a s is placed at the end of a non, it usually means more the one.  So support our troops is correct.  Also, support our troops sounds better then support of soldier.  Also, the Army's motto is an army of one, not a soldier of one.  Their motto has nothing to do with the subject.

According to M-W.com a troop is a group of soldiers.  Since there are more the one group of soldiers overseas, then Support our Troops is correct.

Also, soldier has more then one meaning when speaking on military terms.  where as troop does not.  One more thing before I go.  By using the term troop everyone is being more politically correct.  When most people think about a soldier, they thing about someone who kills for a living.  When you think about troops, you think about people who server their nation.

So, I should call myself "Soldier_Collider" instead of "Trooper_Collider"?

The word Soldier in the US military refers to members of the Army...

Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines...

To me, "bring our soldiers home" sounds worse then "bring our troops home"...

When saying troops they are refering to a collection of troopers not a collection of "troop" as in the military unit...

In the infantry of the USMC the Fireteam is the smallest unit, but in the USArmy the Squad is...
