EA has confirmed that new map will be absolutely free!!!
They are also making a patch, but it isn't called 1.31 - it's called something like "1.3 bugs fixer"

"Tuning: We have made some modifications to the vehicle drop feature introduced in 1.3. These changes should reduce the overall impact of "cartillery" on game play. "

They are releasing a beta patch..... basically a patch that says hey... we don't know if it works but here you go! 20% of players will be playing 1.21, 30% will be playing 1.3, and 50% will be playing 1.31 beta. Throw in optional booster packs to the mix and what do we have. The most @#%^ up and seperated gaming community ever.

I'm glad to see EA taking bug fixes seriously...it's about time they focused on the nagging bugs in BF2. If they get it right this could turn BF2 from a great game to a classic game.

Oh, and I saw somebody saying they hope for an infantry-only map and all I can say is YES IT'S ABOUT TIME! I would LOVE to see that happen, although with a map named "Road to Jalalabad" it sounds like more jeeps and armor...

road to jalalabad can also mean that there is a long "road" ahead of you to reach your goal, the city of jalalabad.
i hope this is an infantry only map............. but i suspect it isnt

Edit----

Did you notice that they said under their message

"-The DICE Battlefield Team "

and not as normal something like "the team at DICE and EA"

mmmmm....... suspecious!
