The main reason I like it, if you just want straight up gun battles, just stay on the wall and you avoid armor and apc's. There are no planes or heli's either. As long as you stay on the wall most of the time, it is the best close infantry battle you can find in this game. IMOTrashBlinD wrote:

32 player 32 or 64 map size is really the best. it seems only the larger servers are plauged with maroons :p
I used to be one of the many karkand whores, and for as long as I can remember, it has always been nade spamming at the hotel, followed by countless claymores.
With it, I managed to get 46kills in a row with Arty. Great.
If they removed the alley at the front and remodelled the front of the map (alley and hotel), then it may once again be a map to play on, because once the Hotel falls, it did turn into a good fight. But that was rare - and people always go back there to continue nade spamming.
I got out of it and havent played that map for over a month, and wont again. Even when on my favourite servers and its the next map, ill disconnect and play elsewhere. Its so boring, repetitive, skill-less, lame and pathetic, its unreal.
Ive had more fun in the other maps than I ever did in Karkand, and since leaving, I feel as if Ive become a much better player.
Artillery barely affects me anymore. Same with spawn raping. I couldnt care less about jets or helis, because they require some level of skill compared to arty and an APC holding down the trigger at a small hole in the wall.
Let the noobs and top10 in the world continue to nade spam if they wish - but I for one, will never step foot in that map again, period.

Yeah it's sad, i used to like Great Wall more and more, because it got those really good infantry fights on the wall. And if you stay on the wall, you usually don't have any problems with armor on this map. Out of my experience i can say that armor usually get's killed by mines or c4 thrown from the wall or Anti-Tanks shooting from the wall.usmarine2005 wrote:

As for the nade spamming on Karkand, it's really annoying and it's one of the things that takes the least skill to do together with claymore spamming and armor spawnkilling on Karkand.
yeah greatwall is a good map just no one ever plays it. And karkand is gitting old you tank whore and nade spam that is all they do on karkand.usmarine2005 wrote:

sometimes if im bored ill join a 64 man server karkand only and just spam nades as support. ive only done it a couple times but ill get like 25-30 kills each time, all nades.... it's funny as much as it is lame.

I got accused of having no skills by spamming nades once... These guys were camping that alley to the first flag moving people down. There was a couple of medics and several support guys just firing away. So I started throwing grenades and got like 10 kills from four throws.

I'm the MEC guy holding down the hills- fighting off the smart USMC guys who are trying to flank around and cap the suburbs. I generally spawn at the Square as SpecOps, then run SW to the corner and up to the hills by the alley and get ready for people running north along the hills. I have LOTS of fun fighting for the suburbs, and it seems like every game there are several people who think the same as me and we go toe-to-toe for much of the game.
I stay away from the grenade craziness. While throwing mass grenades may earn kills, it sure is cheesy- so I don't do it. Bunny hopping is also effective, but it looks stupid and cheesy, so I never do that either. Artillery and Tanks ruin every good battle, so I don't do them either. I just play the way I want to play and have fun at it.

Simple explanation for the nades guys.........the HOTEL MEC glitchers have forced us to turn to nades.MEC commanders who drop VODS get banned now on the server I play at....and for good reason.DO NOT tell me for a second that the MEC commanders don't know what they are doing when they do this too because they do.

Funny thing is......I often lone wolf it over to the factory for the flag (and usually get it). I always text my team that "the factory flag is coming up now please spawn factory", but rarely does anyone come. They would rather harvest points than actually win or at least have a good battle.
This is the problem with ranks and stats. People are fixated on the huge amount of kills/revives/resupplys that can be available at the hotel and will not leave the area even when presented with a winning option. The almighty points are ultimately worth more than the win.
It would certainly be interesting to see how BF2 teamplay would have turned out if the ranking system had not been implemented. I'm sure it would be a much, much different style of gameplay than we currently have.
