Im going to get it as soon as I possibly can. From the way all the BF2 servers are so jam packed all the time, I am almost positive that this pack is going to be successful for the following reasons:
1) There is a MASSIVE player base right now for BF2. We're talking damn near EQ or WOW size.
2) The expansion will pull some load of BF2, which hopefully will result in both expansion and normal servers having the player load more evenly distributed.
3) BF2 is a truly outstanding game. One of the best FPS i've ever played, and I've played everything from DOOM to the most recent before BF2 being RS3. However, you do still experience burn out just like with any other game. BF2 is a little bit more 'open field of battle' kind of FPS, where you have to sometimes walk long distances to your rendezvous point. However, the way the SPECOPS expansion is sounding, its going to be more of a CQB, Karkand style of play. So when you get tired of playing one style, you'll be able to go play the other. It is my hope too, that there will be the ability to meld the two types of play together. I mean, lets face it the spec ops stlye play will be so much fun on some of the original maps.
4) More than likely, this expansion pack is going to add so many new ranks and badges and the like to the game that its going to be like being new all over again. Not to mention all the cool new toys to play with!
Well, thats just my take on things. I for one will be waiting at the store the day its out! ;p
