I have been trying to get the unlocks available on the sniper comp server but no joy. I checked out the forums and nearly hit the roof.

The 1.3 patch doesn't allow unranked servers to use global unlocks.

So we have a choice.
I'll happily use a ranked server for the event but that would mean that I can't password it or restrict the use of any kits or vehicles (I could lose my server if I do).

So, do we play on an unranked server with the rules as stated.
OR
Play on a ranked server with anyone else that comes along and not weapon/kit restrictions?

Download a mod that has unlocks available on it

And get everyone that wants to use it to snipe, get the mod

Wait..........On the unranked gibson server, we used unlocks, didnt we?

there sure will be a full server so no public should be able to join
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

Hey wait, I think I have a loophole

Simply run a 16 (Or 32) player server, with 16 (Or 36) of the people who want to snipe!!!

Or run your server with as many reserved slots as there are total slots!!!

I would need the list of names before we start and that would be all that could play, but in theory, possible.
Sounds a little impractical though.

If there are enough people who wan't to snipe couldn't you kickvote the people using other kits/weapons?Kickvotes can be done for anything or is this against the ROE.

We'll try this first, if it becomes unmanageable then we have the unranked one in reserve.

The mod unranked sounds like a good idea.

My painkillers have started kicking in, so no playing for me.

Hopefully the dentist will sort this out, going to make an appointment on monday.

Awww, no loophole use? Im telling ya, get the list of partisipants, make the server size the ammount, and get everyone in at the same time, anyone random joins, get everyone to kickvote

I like the idea but don't think it's practical.
I don't know how many people want to play and certainly don't know their names.
I would have to reset the server to let others in.
It's just not gonna work with a few hours to set up.

Yeah, had some good fun.

Even with the painkillers my tooth is still driving me nuts.

Did you get good images of me landing the mec heli on the crane?

Was talking with duffry about this earlier on the server, with 1.3 you can't have global unlocks.

So, it's unranked with no unlocks and the server is passworded...

Or, it's ranked with your unlocks and no password. Plus you can't get rid of people who join and use kits other than the sniper rifle, so if someone joins and starts raping with the tank, heli, plane etc they can't be kicked because it breaks the ranked server rules.


The idea of having it unranked and passworded with it running a minor weapon mod is the best thought on this.
