Pity Bergkamp couldn't see into the future, then he could have helped Netherlands qualify for Japan/Korea even if he wasn't going and then they'd have a better shot at landing a seed, not getting thrown in with Argentina and the best African team (the second group of death). That thinking is a little bit premature, but just remember that scenario if you guys end up not getting out of the group stage (it could happen). US came close to getting a seed too, but they changed the formula and that 32nd place in 1998 killed us (though we still got 9 over Holland). I think we can get out, and a 2nd place finish (4 points and a little luck at the least) gives us Brazil, meaning that we either meet the favorites early and can either use losing to them as an excuse for going out or... pull off one of the greatest and most surprising upsets of all time (it could happen, at least theoretically).^*AlphA*^ wrote:
