get a 975x chipset motherboard. and make sure that that 7600 is ddr3. psu also is a bit too low, get a 500w at least.
If you can afford it, get the E6600, it's one of the mest overclockers. Don't go with AMD right now, because Conroe is the best right now. Everything looks fine, except that if you want to overclock get a better heatsink and fan for the CPU.
Yea I would suggest you go for the next higher up Core 2 chip. Maybe spend less on the case and more on the processor. I hear great things about it and if you save up afterwards you can buy a good cooling kit and OC the chip to get more power out of it.
If you do go for a 975x motherboard... make sure it is compatible with the Core 2 first. I used to have a kick ass ASUS board but unfortunately that one didn't work with the Core 2 so I had to take a hit by selling it and buying a new one.
