I will probably be slayed for this most, but it has to be said....

I think the majority of people who have put their thoughts in writing on this debate need to pull their head out of their ass and give it a good slapping before having a long hard think about themselves and their COUNTRIES GENERAL ATTITUDE (Not necessarily their individual one).

America has a long history in getting involved in other countries affairs, often through military force simply because the US Government deems it in America’s best interest.  Throughout much of the world, especially in the Middle-East and Asia, Americans are held in very low regard.  This is mostly because the majority of Americans come across as very ARROGANT and IGNORRANT of/to the rest of the world.

Americans in general very much believe themselves to be superior to everyone else simply because they are a SUPERPOWER and their economy is SHOWN AS THE STRONGEST and they were first in the NUCLEAR race, or simply because they are American.  If you wish to look at counties like Iraq and Afghanistan for example, how many Americans knew even where these countries were before you invaded them…?  Considering that the average American does not even know where Australia is, I think not too many.

Now many of you may think that America has done a good thing for these countries by overthrowing them, and to an extent you have.  However at the same time you continue to further anger them through YOUR ATTITUDE.  American soldiers are quite possibly held in the worst regard by the civilian populations of the countries they are currently serving in on active operations.  Due purely to their SUPERIOR ATTITUDE and their over-keenness to blow shit up.

Until America as a whole changes its attitude towards the world and stops trying to ram your culture down our throats, then you are going to continue to be a major target for terrorism, as will your allies.

For this reason it is strategically essential to maintain bases throughout Europe and Asia, especially Air Force Bases.  How else will you be able to bomb anyone out of existence at will…?

As for aid to the EU, well I’m not American so I don’t really care either way.

Armenia is not in the EU. But you probably don't know this.

By the way, the EU is not only a trading organisation. It used to be one, true. But since a couple of years, it's much more.

1. If you are going to claim we are ignorant and take the moral high-ground, at least learn how to spell the word.
2. The majority of the conflicts the U.S. has been involved in has been a direct retaliation for agression against the U.S. or it's allies.
3. Last I checked, the U.S. doesn't usually go it alone...
4. Have you ever been to Asia?  I have, they don't hold the U.S. in low regard, they (in fact) try to emulate our way of life.

1. All Americans who went to school know where Iraq and Afghanistan are...
2. All Americans know where Australia is you dufus, have you ever been there?  I have and their women are HOT.

Not true, you only see the negative on the news from a small minority.  You should the see the REAL truth about the people of those countries...people holding signs thanking the U.S., children playing with soldiers, women giving our troops food.  If the news organizations weren't controlled by Democrats who wanted to smear Bush and U.S. policy to further their political faction, you might actually see more of the truth.

I agree to an extent, but in Iraq, we let them choose how they wanted to govern, remember?  That's why it took them so long to build one (a government).

Once again your ignorance shows, you need to take history in school so you can learn why we are really there...the small size of your brain confounds and pains me.  Please pull your head out of your ass and speak with at least a minimal amount of intelligence.

Don't lie, your hate message to the U.S. shows us that you do...where are you from Canada or France?  You speak like someone who is French or has French ties...

NATO is largely irrelevant from a European perspective these days. It was set up in response to the looming threat of communism in the east. With the fall of communism in Russia it has now served its purpose and should be disbanded. The reasons the bases remain is that they are convenient staging posts for US military actions in far flung parts of the world.

No I didn't, he is bashing the U.S. without telling us where he is from...I'm just trying to figure it out since most of the hate rhetoric I see and hear comes from those 2 countries.  You have to admit, there is no love lost between us and them...

I guess I should add that his last option in the poll is probably indicative of his nationality.  That's what prompted me to put that line in...sorry if you disagree.

My bad, I just saw that he didn't start the poll.  My mistake.

Owned yourself AGAIN!

SLovenia had a fully peaceful transition seceding from Yugoslavia and have nothing to do with Serbian atrocities.
Slovenia is home to the SLOVENES. SLOVAKIA is home to the SLOVAKS. It used to be part of CZECHOSLOVAKIA. A country with zero to do with Serbia. Quit while your dignity is barely intact (well actually at this stage it isn't).

nice flaming guys, pity afrocullions is gone, just to get this right? the aid topic is done, or? after marshall was no more aid to europe. true, europe, or especially germany had some reasons for payments to the US, but i think that debt is paid. the other point, americas troops allover the world, i doubt they will be removed within the next 30 years. you guys, who think it is possible to bring your people home, should take a look at "The National Security Strategy of the United States of America", better known as the Bush-Doctrine aka. Wolfowitz-Doctrine. just my two cents.

Well it's get to have afrocullions back. Singlehandedly dragging down global opinion of American intelligence. But don't worry America we know he's just a special case. I invite all to click on the link above, the one Afrocullions referred to in the previous post, and try and find ONE SINGLE SOLITARY REFERENCE to aid  supplied by the USA to a member nation of the EU.

Glad to hear from you afro, it was getting a bit boring without someone to laugh at....

Here are selected quotes from the website Afrocullions mentions, followed by my comments:

Czech Republic:
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), created by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 to provide foreign assistance throughout the world, completed its aid programs in the Czech Republic in 1997.

***2006 - 1997 = 9 years ago. Czech Republic joined the EU in 2004.

Poland:
Yet the end of USAID assistance to Poland in no way ends the many links forged between Poland and the United States.

***What? No aid to Poland anymore?

Lithuania:
In 1992- 2000, the United States through USAID have provided almost $90 million in technical assistance, training, equipment, and investments.

***By my calendar it is now 2006 and Lithuania didn't join the EU until 2004.

Ireland:
The sum total of 'aid' the US gives THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND is zero. The sum total of 'aid' the US gives NORTHERN IRELAND is a phone call every now and again to see how the peace process is coming along. No financial aid is supplied.

Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Turkey are NOT MEMBERS OF THE EU.

So what have we learned?
1) US does not supply aid to the EU.
2) The US ceased aid to the new EU entrants before they joined the EU (at least three years before they did).
3) Afrocullions doesn't know much about the Republic of Ireland.
4) Afrocullions doesn't know much about Northern Ireland.
5) Afrocullions doesn't know which countries are members of the EU.

QED

Edit:
Afrocullions - paste this link into your browser and observe the table in the link (the link itself doesn't work for some reason). Ireland is a small country of 4m people with no natural resources yet look at our position in the table. Do we look like we need aid?

you seem to think your high school is a college .. sorry it isnt ...
only differnece between a university and a college is that some college's ie community colleges cant offer a 4 year bachelors degree .. you seem confused about what kind of school you goto maybe you should go see a counselor to lean how to wipe your ass

to cameron:its awesome/sad how i know more about your region than you do. look again dumbfuck
romania and bulgaria ARE in the EU and i stated that Serbia Bosnia and Turkey are APPLYING to the EU so maybe get that jizzum out of your eye or w/e the fuck is your problem. i know the year 2000 was so fucking long ago ...well just keep giving to the EU when it needs it ..waiting for some fucked up country to try to destroy itself then well show up.

Hold on.  You're saying that the US provides aid to Northern Ireland?  Is that what you're saying?

What sort of aid would that be?  Weapons and explosives?  Financial backing to paramilitary (aka terrorist) organisations?  Or are you saying there is financial aid from the US to the UK (the current legal government of NI)?
