This morning I was playing on a EA server from the West coast I believe since it said WC. Anyways, everything was running fine my Ping was around  50. After about twenty minutes I noticed alot of lag and sluggish behavior. I checked the Pings and notice one guy had a ping of 900???? God! where in the world was he from? So, I don't believe the notion that PING doesn't effect performance because it truly does. Anyone else see such a Ping?

Yes. I've seen players with 950+ in ping:| They must have been playing from the northpole or something. It's crazy as hell!

Yeah, or their connection was saturated by something other than bf2 (roommates, bittorrents, porn, ddos attacks, etc...) Happens quite a lot when you have roommates.

Porn!, no way, I mean, who would have porn on their pc ... seriously, I've had pings of 20 - 300, both can be slow and both can be great.

my ping jumps to 900 or even more every friday + saturday night because my provider put too many people on the line!

sucks when i cant play cause of that!

i remebered that i once had a ping of 970, it was just for 5 secs or so, then it "rushed down" to 60 again.

My frickin ping pisses me off so much.  I've had 1000+ ping before.  Not just once or twice but at least 3 times a week!  I dont have any other programs running on my com when I play either.  I'll probably get banned every time I go in a server now but maybe some can help me.
