Stat padding...

what exactly does that means?

ok, i'm not completely retarded : few weeks ago i was playing strike at karkand (as usmc) and was commander. 2 guys (1 usmc, 1 mec) came next to me and started shooting/ reviving me... since i wasnt able to do anything (not even suicide) i started calling them ******** until i got kicked out of the server

so i figure that is stat padding. but are there other ways? i can imagine a support and a team mate shooting at nothing so that the support gets resupplies but besides that??

well i'm an honest player anyways
so i'm not looking for tactics to rack up points but i wanna make sure im not missing anything "illegal"

For example: you and your friends is joining a public RANKED server.

One of your friends is going on MEC, and you and you other friend joins USCM. The you got a deal with the person on MEC to meet you and you teammate on a specific place, your teammate is a medic.

The your friend on MEC kills you, while your teammate is reviving you again. Then your teammate is getting a lot of points for reviving, and your friend on MEC is getting points for killing you, and no-one is getting bad stats, since you are always getting revived!

It's also other ways to stat padding, but I think the example I used is the most common one...

Shoot/Resupply
Damage/Repair
Sit in Ground Defence/Air Defence as commander
Lamejoining (that is, joining the winning side a few tickets before the game ends)

Those are all situations that can be perceived as stat-padding, although I'll get flamed for saying that a commander in AA/TOW etc. is statpadding, but he is...

As far as i can tell it was defined as " To gain points by exploiting the scoring system in a way that was not intended by the developers". e.g. the knife, revive exploit. I have to say that in over 230 hrs of play i rarely see people stat padding.
