the options u have are very vague, alot of people i see use claymores tactically, not "noobish" way. If a player can use the claymore with tactics, then he should be able to do what he wants. if a player just chucks a claymore for the sake of it, thats just stupid
Not vague at all.

They are 'multiple choice'.

And for the sake of argument, does this mean I should be allowed to have a rocket launcher with a clip of 50 rockets and strafe people with it?

No? Why not? Because that would be unrealistic and cause me to have an unfair advantage?
Perfect placement of a plastic box filled with metal balls and high explosive, mounted on FOLDING metal legs that for all intents and purposes are like nails crossed with scissor blades. Yep, thats realistic. Truly.

Please, don't misunderstand again, I love to use clays, I just find it completely fscking stupid that other equipment in the game is subject to real world physics and reactions, but clays are 100% perfect placement if you aren't a noob who thinks 'front towards enemy' means 'point at a wall' AND cannot be destroyed or dislodged, even by a fucking tank.

Exactly. So often i drop a claywhore and walk over it myself to see if MFF is on on a server.

@server admins: Write a warning into your server-info-box on the loading screen if MFF is ON.

again - there's no point in a claymore that you can get close enough to see and subsequently avoid.

its changed the gameplay for sure. Ive had to learn to play differently. even more now i choose to stick to the edges of battles, flanking when possible and avoiding the chokepoints of inevitable claymore death. I certainly look at te choke points but i avoid running through.

This game get much more fun when you begin survivng for long periods of time, and anyting that encourages you to use the playing style of "prolonged life" and caution i think adds to the immersiveness of playing. Also, this heightened caution normallyis resorted to after the first time i step on a claymore at a server. Sometimes a server will barely have any out and u dont have to worry, but its good to pick up on it quick if someone at your server is claymoreing flags, or chokepoints. You can just start camping more and let your squadmates pave the way like guinea pigs if thats the case.

ALSO I like to play at servers where claymore FF is ON so people tend to place them more sparingly.

Thats why you place them in blind spots (behind boxes, inside doorways, corner of a stairwell, in scrub-land etc) instead of going 'LOLZ, I will just place it in open view on this corridor to try and deter people from coming down it.' Come off it, you might have a car alarm, and have etched all your shit in the car with your post code, but if someone wants it, they're getting in and taking it. Same with flags. Heres why.

a: any squad worth it's salt will have a Medic.
b: Running past boxes on 2nd floor Palace and being blown away as a squad would be more efficient and demoralizing than one guy going 'fallback, I'll take this one down, revive me if you can'.

Some people say no changes are needed, but they might well be the same people who throw clays down when in close quarters combat, so even when they die, not if, WHEN, they stand a chance of taking their killer out and not feeling so crap about being wtfpwned.

Looked up a lot of info about claymore mines, and in every single shot of troops placing them, whatever armed force it is, the fucker placing it is as vulnerable as can be. I don't see a problem with it, because anyone with an ounce of smarts is gonna place those baby's before they get stormed anyway.

Signed! EA should force them to do so since the trial and error method is really annoying (and "expensive").

Doesn't make any sense, clays can only go of if a person get in range, not even a huge explosion or C4 can tick it of =/ Just give us the abilty to destroy them with grenades and we will be happy.

I can live with the claymores now. If I know a place where a lot of claymores are, I just spawn as medic, and wait till someone runs into it. Boom, recive, boom, recive... not realy a problem.

But the most people are thinking "Hey, i can not leave the spawn area, because i could get killed by something"... well, getting kild don't cost you points, so where is the problem there?

because ppl complain about things they cannot handle and EA listens to these (what a pity). thats why we got changes every few months (PKM normal, then too strong, now weaken etc.). I say: Stop these "nerf it plz omfgz!!!ors!!one" kids....

Well I'm no clay-whore and I'm not sniping that much.
I'm better in a plane or a tank . So this "little" mines don't affect me.

by the way: trying to defuse a clay as engineer can be suicide too, when a f*ckin teammate comes by to defuse it "his way" with a big bang.
the same goes for antitank-mines: bridge in karkand, stopped my tank, got out, defusing mines. teammate comes by "A FREE TANK!", stole my tank, killed himself and me (defusing a mine) with the last remaining mine.
D00MSAYER *DEAD*: Why do you think i lie there?
Idiot *dead*: wtf was that?

Unfortunately you are completely right with your description of this "standard" situation. But recently I was allowed to experience something completely different: I left the Spednaz-base in the T-90 and recognized five (!) mines at the other side of the bridge. So I stopped and after a short scan I left the tank to disarm the mines. A fellow sniper spawned at the flag nearby, looked around and sprinted to "my" tank. Thinking "Oh sh..", I was more than astonished when he just maned the turret MG and jumped out as soon I finished my job, running back to climb up the ladder at the building. So he just paused his plans to cover me - what a team-player! Since I was so perplexed I forgot to look after his name and was just able to send him a poor "Thank you!".

Yes, like we all have time on karkand to go AROUND a claymore, and REMOVE it, before we get killed.... right... i'll believe that when mi shit turns purple.

I say that a person should be only able to drop 1 claymore per life. If he gets ammo and ends up with another one he should be able to drop it and have the other disappear.

yah..AT should have 1 rocket only too. Those tubes are single use only. How does a soldier move with FIVE tubes?

Have you tried carrying FIVE AT mines. Do you know how freaking heavy those are?

squating to plant mines... wat a stupid notion. might as well make everyone zoom before shooting. (except shotgun). you ever tried shooting without the crosshair in your eye? do you know how inaccurate it is supposed to be?

All those were not implemented. coz it is a ... G A M E.

bottom line - dropping a claymore near a flag is probably the EASIEST thing in the game to do for guarenteed spam points - which is why everyone does it.  At least with C4, you have to be alive to trigger it...and you have to know there are people there to blow up.

I love watching snipers RUN AWAY from an opposing player dropping claymores in their wake like turds.....LAME!!!!

All this talk about nerfing...why don't you n00bs all meet up in a random open field somewhere with REAL nerf guns?  Wouldn't that be fun?  Yes, I am a sniper.  Yes, I use claymores (my claymore ratio is around 15 or 16).  Running into heavily trafficked areas = claymore kill from the Vulcan.  Plain and simple concept.

EA has so much money they should mail nerf guns to all the whiners.  But on a serious note, claymores should not be changed in any way.  Be happy that we can only carry and place 2 at a time!  Don't play BF2 if all you're gonna do is complain.

Don't "nerf" them. Just make them disapear after you blow the sniper away, it's lame to kill a guy on your way from one flag to the next and then get blown up by a claymore 1-2 minutes after you killed him.

same should be done for AT mines, you dont get to detonate the c4 you planted after you die with SF so why should sniper and engineer be different?

Getting behind a claymore...should be fun :S

And, tbh, any karkand 64man server is spammed with claymores around the alley and hotel by MEC. As if you dont have to contend with a constant nade spammage as it is - when thats finally over, 30 claymores finishes your teams effort off - and back to the nade spammage again. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat until some1 captures suburb or factory, then they go away.

I do think that their range needs to be reduced a bit - they blow up from a mile away. Thats about it.
So then quit your whining and go be the person to cap suburbs or factory. You KNOW they're going to be there, so rather than whine when you run into a heavily defended point, go AROUND it. I would've thought that was common sense to do so, rather than whine that you're getting killed when you run into a choke point.
