i think the problem is that you're joining empty or dead servers and not realizing it

there's a glitch that causes the server you select to jump on the list and if you double click you're actually joining the server that displaced the one you originally selected
might have something to do with it

or it might be a totally different glitch.

change ur audio settings to hardware and from either low to medium or medium to high or high to medium and that should work.

it worked for me i went from software to hardware and low to medium and it works fine now.

that was quick talk later hope it works!

why couldnt they make the patch just so it friggen works

god i hate this everything has been fine bar this one

i downloaded the 87mb i think thats what it was there shouldnt be a diff between that one and the 400 mb one

Use the full. I still had this exact same problem with installing the full, but I found out what the problem was.

Have you at all moved and/or renamed the BF2.exe and the whole folder somewhere else? At first, I had moved all my BF2 folder to a different drive, and the patch only installs to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\ Battlefield 2.     That was my first problem, so I had to move all my files back to that folder (above) and try to repatch. Didnt work... and the game could not load up. I realised that this was also because I renamed BF2.exe to BF21.exe (explained in lag reduction tips), so it was patching all the files in the Battlefield 2 folder, but not the actuall program which runs the game (BF2.exe) So this was where the problems were.

So, check that they are in the right location (C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\) and that the file isnt renamed....

I had the same sort of problems with the game crashing out upon joining certain servers. I too, used the incremental.
Just set the full update going through EA downloader...got to 310MB (70%) and crashed and said I had to redownload. Fucking useless piece of garbage. Funny, cos I exited it, came back in and its working again now (although very very slowly). Believe me, EA's crappy patch is not as bad as some of the ones we used to get in CS:Source.

Ok, help me out. I keep crashing to desktop on most servers, the server info is all at zero, and I dont want to download the full one in particular. Anyone know whats up?

I know many of you having troubles with 1.30 patch, can you at least take the time to look at other threads, there are many people with same problems, please do not make new post if sum one has same problems as you and he has made the post already. Thank you


Ok here is what I found  this might fixit for sum

First off Install full patch not "incremet" ( this should fix most of the problems )
Update Punkbuster After new patch ( full install ) update your PB, you can find out how to auto update PB in general chat section of this forums ( titled top 10 tweak guids )

To steps above should fix the problems also found this on other forums that might help 

1. I found this sorted, my problems out, alternatively you just need to switch your PC to run with just 1 cpu (in window task manager, right click BF2.exe, select affinity- deselect one of the cpu's and away you go!)

2.If that dont work dude, try turning Hyperthreading off in your BIOS. Done the trick for me, I had the exact same problem.
I dont have Dual processors though but if the above post don't work give it a bash.

3.Video settings check make sure they set to low ( only for now just to see if it helps our problem )

4. After new patch update your PB, you can find out how to auto update PB in general chat section of this forums ( titled top 10 tweak guids )
