Anyone had a response from EA about why it's gone belly up?

OK so 90% of those posting here either are having or have had problems with the 1.3 patch.

Has anyone reported these flaws to EA

If so, have you had a reply?

Is it literally a case of nobody having re-started their machines, therefore, it's your own fault guys. Or is it a case that they've stuffed up the incremental... or as I suspect (since the primary UK EA Forum for BF2 has been locked (Because of the expected high traffic due to the iminent patch (WTF!!!! More traffic expected therefore, lets stop them talking?!))) they just don't give a monkies about this game or those who play it any more.

when I try to click on the icon on my desktop to actually patch the game(incremental) it doesn't want to pop up and let me go through the process of installing it.

Don't download the incremental, it's a broken piece of shit. You have to download the full patch if you want it to work right.

I patched 2 machines with the incremental. Both worked fine.

It's only a broken piece of shit when the user doesn't know what they're doing .

Yep. I always DL the full patch and have never had a problem. Mates have DLed the incremental and have had nothing bbut headaches, and then had to download over and over again.

I clicked a link, clicked a button, clicked another button, clicked 2 more buttons, and watched little bars fill up, then I clicked Finish.

Did I do anything wrong?

Heck no. If there is a problem with that then its not from your end. Who ever made the buttons made the issue.

Well, I downloaded the FULL patch and am having issues getting into some server due to the "modified content issue" even though I know the server is runing 1.3.

the incremental worked fine for me. im surprised so far not one problem. but i just put it on and only played 2 rounds.

REBOOT UR MACHINE AFTER THE UPDATE. I've learned to do this with this tempramental game. and it seems to help after a new update

Can't deny that's true either Naughty. I set this thread up to try and get both sides. Maybe it's 50-50 or even 20% having problems. I know I had a few, sadly had to leave for work before I had a chance to do much fault finding, hence I'm posting here instead. If I'd fixed it in 20 minutes I doubt I'd even be writing about it. Ah the frustrations of a man who just wants to kill someone ;-)

I downloaded the incremental and no problems on the round I just got finished with. Even 1.2 was done by incremental. No problems there either.

I guess it is just a case by case basis.

The most problem I ever had was it took me 3 times to get it to start when I first started. That was before I changed out my power supply. Darn cheap ps in the pc.

The patch worked fine. PLayed a few different servers and not a problem. Cant tell the difference except for vehicles falling from the sky.

Make that 3 patched PCs and no issues.

It's not just hitting the continue button. What about setting ALL your BF2 files back to default. Use the shortcut resolution mod; take it out. Change localization files; revert back, rename the .exe; rename it to the original.

Then of course there's always ending most to all of the apps that you have running, including messengers, voip, firewalls, profiles, anti-virus.

Then cleaning out shaders BEFORE the patch, then rebooting AFTER the patch.

I guaranteee none of you guys did these things. Installing patches isn't like installing a simple program. Expecially with EA; you have to take ALL precautions.
